So I'm new to the forum and been browsing a lot lately, especially since pokerstars and fulltilt got seized (im a US player). I just have a quick question...how does carbon stack up in your opinions? I'm really considering signing up because I was reading some good reviews about it from various sites but as I look at the deposit methods I only qualify for the western union one...and yes I do not have a visa/mastercard right now...its a long story.

Either way, if I sign up for it I won't be depositing much for right now because I have limited funds but very soon I should be able to put some money down and start playing again. :eating:

software kind of sucks. better off singing up with Lock Poker. same player base. (merge) a lot of fish coming from the sportsbook, 200% sign up bonus and slick software. best of luck!

I play at Carbon. I don't know about the cash games since I don't play in them. The MTT's are rather soft but you have to figure out what time they are and hope your available for them, since there not offering them all the time. As for the sng's I see they have added 45 man sngs for 5 dollar buy in and 11 dollar buy ins but the sng's take awhile to fill up since there is not a lot traffic but could get more since what happen to FT and PS.

Overall it is a good site to play on I think, I would either go there or bodog.

Thanks guys. I usually only play the sng's when I was at fulltilt..not too big on the cash games since I don't feel like I have been playing long enough. I'll def look at lock and bodog though. Might as well since options are kind of limited

I like the software at Carbon, but their last update messed up some of the emoticons available. It used to take ages to get a check issued, but I never deposited, won $125 for winning our Carbon buy-in (after winning money in freerolls) & received a check this morning after requesting a withdrawal last week. I'm from the US & will try to cash it tomorrow.:)

GL with it there. CC has freerolls every week there, alternating between 3pmET & 8pmET & buy-ins weekly, alternating the times too.

getting started at carbon

I deposited $50 on Carbon just three days ago and have gotten it up to $69 strictly through tournaments. The games are a lot softer!

My roll was $135 at Stars, so I'm used to playing Microstakes. If you are a Microstakes player as well, check out their Dollar Dazzler rebuy tourneys (1st place gets $112.00) and their $2.20 6-man sitngos (1st gets $8.00).

Also, this room is VERY informal, so you can use the emoticons and constant chatting to your advantage. They are always talking about their hands, running the rabbit thing where they show their cards and play the hand, etc.

I don't know about cash games, but tournaments here are pretty profitable so far. Also, make sure to contact support about the CARDS600 bonus code! :)

Carbon is pretty good, you may be able to buy a gift visa to deposit.
I did that in order to be able to transfer funds there and it worked fine for me.

I play at carbon (mainly FT until now) and it's not the worst of sites to play on.

I don't like the HH there - it's a PITA to read, especially in mid game.

Not such a biggie if you use PT/HEM though.

(bodog excluded the use of tracking software so I chose not to play there).

It took carbon a while to process withdrawals in the past but my last two took 2 respectively 4 days which I think is ok.

As said there are 2 CC games a week there (wed freeroll and thu buy-in) with around 30-40 / 10-30 player fields until last week - could be more now, though.

They run many freerolls, and if you stick around and become an active member here, you will be eligable for our private ones.
Good luck!

Hmm.. so the VisaGiftCard didn't work huh. Well that sucks. I know they used to work on Carbon (couple years ago).
As others have mentioned, the micro buyin games on there are pretty soft. CC also has a game on there each Thurs.
I noticed a Carbon rep. on the forum here the other day, perhaps they'll respond on this thread.
