Carbon Fun Steps

good luck with it, I caved in and deposited, I just couldn't handle it anymore. I won a whole 2 dollars playing those.

Ya I am grinding them some but not even close to getting 100$ out of them. Good Luck

I have tried the fun step sit'n'gos and did actually win the dollar. However, I failed to turn it in to $100. Since I made it to the buck it is possible. Good luck.

I play on Carbon, but, haven't seen them. Sounds interesting and I will look into them, if I can find where they are.

They are in the play money sit and go tab. Personally I think you would be much happier just depositing than trying to grind $100 out of those things.

This is a slow but sure way to build a bankroll. Try looking for some other freeroll sites. This site and PO seem pretty good.

yeah, been there many times, in a regular sng even the Dolphin room tournys, a top three would at least put you in the money and those are 9 players not 10. It just got too frustrating.

I tried to grind the fun steps a little bit, they are pretty aggravating.

Fun Step 1: 3 out of 10 players move on to fun step 2.
Fun Step 2: 2 out of 10 players move on to fun step 3.
Fun Step 3: 1 out of 10 players win $1.

Using just the percentages, (30% x 20% x 10%), when you are holding a Fun Step 1 ticket, that puts your chances to turn it all the way into winning the Fun Step 3 and win $1 at 0.6%.

I do realize that your skills etc can vary your winning percentages. For example, fun step 1 is filled with terrible players, and I've found that my fun step 1 winning percentage is closer to 50%-60%, as opposed to 30%.

The point I'm trying to make is, it's a lot of time and definitely not worth it.

I win on average about $1-$2 a day playing fun steps, some might consider that good considered to other people stories of not making it all the way in these, I must be pretty good at them lol, But I'm also a SNG player

That is awesome! How long do you end up playing in one day to go from 10 step1s to the couple of dollars?

Do you have any general strat for this? Especially for Step 2 and Step 3?

I wait out the players who think they are playing tight. They usually start throwing chips around carelessly as the game goes on. Then I get my chips in when I think I'm ahead. It's a toss up at those tables with people playing and catching on any two.

Its a really nice promotion for people who have the patience to grind the various funsteps. It is more difficult than it seems to actually win these.

I use my regular sng strat, adjust to the stages and blinds and position. Just pick your spots on the fish that like to just gamble with these fun steps trying to get lucky and get a dollar. If you are new to SNG's I recommend looking up some articles. I actually have a small bankroll now and no longer need to grind these SNG's have moved up to micro limit SNG's.

Bottom line, you can increase your success in these simply by just letting the donks that like to gamble knock each other out in funstep1's. When I used to play these I would literally win funstep 2 coupons in 70% of the funstep 1's I played simply by laying low and playing ridiculously conservative. If you can see a flop without risking much than by all means see it but unless I was in good position I was laying down alot more than I normally would especially in the beginning simply because I knew people would push behind me with so much garbage and I didn't need to risk chips when I knew half the players would be eliminated before level 2. In step 2's I played my normal game, and in step 3's as much as I wanted to play conservative again because I didn't want to get knocked out after coming so far, the reality is you have to finish 1st, so I would actually play alot more aggressive even from the beginning trying to see as many flops as possible and hopefully hit a hand. This actually worked for me with great success I made over 60 bucks in less than 3 months with my best week winning 14 dollars. It is a grind and is much more practical to just deposit 100 and grind it out in lower stakes games (in whatever you are good at) but when you are broke and want to play real money its really the only decent option out there. Now I must add I was playing every night on 3 different skins so 30 step1's a night, and I don't know if you can still do this because Merge restructured their network. If you can though, by all means make an account on all the skins that offer these and grind away!

Do you have to deposit to get into these? I'm going to have to check these out. I just barely started playing on Carbon again, I used to hate their software, but now I find their my favorite! These fun steps look interest.

No, they are under the promotion tab and you have to buy a step 1 ticket with play money. Then you will find the Funsteps under play money sng's.

They are a grind though, my only advice would be to save up your step 3's at least until you have about 5 of them to better your chance at making the buck. Just remember to use them before 1week is up b/c thats when they expire.

Oh, okay, I was confused because I was on the main website and I kept clicking the promotion tab. I didn't realize you were doing it from within the poker client.

what articles do you recommend? I am having trouble beating Fun step 2 let alone 3, fun step 1 is full of donks though so theyre easy

Any sng article should help but the main thing is volume. You have to play a lot of them. I'd say I'm an avg. player and so far I'm averaging 1$ for every 5-6 step3s. It takes me 15 step2s to get those, and 25 step1s. Very time consuming, luckily I love poker or I'd be :vroam:
