There are more than just the 3 states now getting booted off carbon, there are players from Kentucky, Louisiana, one from Maine, one from the country of Romania, and some more states that have ALREADY been notified of account suspension. This is no joke, or speculation, i expect to get the boot soon, as carbon hasn't 'sweeped' all the players from the site in one fell swoop. They seem to be doing it slowly, i know this as fact and not speculation, these players are buddies and also play in a league series with me. All of them got notice after trying to log in. Yea boy darrell, in my opinion ALL the states will soon get the hammer, but that is strictly my opinion, not established fact.

Yep, the legal sites are putting more pressure on them to GTFO.

I think there are more than them who will be closing their doors soon.

Just got the carbon hammer

Was on carbon at 2 this morning, went to log back in at 9:30, log in failed, please try again at a later time, a pop up said. I knew 3 months ago they were up to something, so i took my balance down to 66 cents, they can keep it. My g-f gets on 30 seconds after i couldn't, nothing wrong with her account. There is now around 7 states going to get the hammer, with more to come. Since carbons players are 80% Americans and it seems very likely more and more states will be a possible threat for lawsuits, it's just a matter of time.

So far the players [ they are doing it slowly] in KY and some in Louisiana. These are personal buddies that play [played] in a league with me. A few buddies in Romania reported they have also got the hammer. One player in Maine got the message, but i don't know if he was doing something he shouldn't have or not. They just keep on comin'.

At one time I was so psyched to have legal poker in NJ but now after being kicked off Carbon I can honestly say it sucks. No PLO8 games to be found in NJ. Oh well that's life. Cash out and go home.

The list of states that are being affected as of now: Louisiana, Washington D.C, Kentucky, New York, Maryland, Missouri,Utah,New Jersey,Washington,Delaware. One from Maine, but that state not on list, so don't know about his situation. Romania and the netherlands for other countries. Nevada should be, but so far not on the list. I know a lot of you members are thinking, yea, we all know that, but you might not know Carbon is blocking the players that signed up to their site before all the crap pre- 2006, and the "grandfathered" players too. They are really going about this slowly, so it seems as if some players have escaped the axe, but i am sure they will get to all. You know they wouldn't want to cause a stampede of players to start cashing out and leave. What has me really puzzled, is Nevada hasn't been blocked yet, and for those not familiar with the law, any state that has an online operation must be licensed in that state, therefore any sites like Carbon, who obviously isn't licensed anywhere in the U.S., would be committing a crime, by providing a gaming service to the residents of Nevada. That is why Carbon has blocked residents of New Jersey, and Delaware. The rest of the states affected have either an existing law prohibiting, or banning online gaming, have vague laws regarding gaming, or, have done extremely stupid things like my state, going after 141 domains, by our former governor Steve Beshear, and losing of course. I knew it was coming , 3 months ago, and i have posts out there 3 months ago to attest to this, so i cleaned out my account and left 6 cents and 66 points in my account. Wouldn't be teed off if the low lifes would have at least gave us a courtesy notice, instead of logging on and get that "log in attempt failed, please try again at a later date" And of course, everyone knows all about the email thing, forget it. Everyone that has been blocked was done the same way, get the message after trying to log in.

SandyHooker please get your facts straight. I was banned from Carbon in NJ and it does not say Login attempt failed, please try again etc. It says "For security purposes, your account has been suspended. Please contact support at blah blah".

You must be special, all the rest of us got the failed log in message. The "security purposes" evidently means for Carbons security. The rest of us blocked players NOT in New Jersey, got failed log in attempt. The first time i personally have seen that message, other times, it would say " connection failed ", not " log in attempt failed, please try at a later date".

I can only confirm 2 states - will adjust the thread title if confirmation comes about others.

I am NJ player and got blocked on Carbon. Has any one tried to get the money off that site since the block? I have a small bankroll there.

I have my account at Carbon reinstated, they must have had a "glitch", because within 2 hours of sending a nice email to merge, i was back in my account. Don't know about anyone else getting their account reinstated, besides the 3 states N.J, DEL., and NV, who cannot because of those states having online gaming, and the few that have existing laws against online gaming. I know another player from KY that was blocked, but don't know if he is back in yet. A few from N.Y. have been able to log back in also. Had to be some kind of foul up, even though carbon does not take new sign ups from those states that were getting locked out, existing accounts were getting locked out also. Phew.

That is why we need to be careful with threads like this and why I changed the thread title. Searching everywhere showed that only 2 states were involved.

Carbon closes accounts in KY and Sweden

Went to log in this morning, and got the dreaded message today-"your account has been deactivated due to security reasons or you are trying to log in from a restricted state, or country". WTH, been there almost 7 years and now they decide to yank me off, B-S. I need to know if any other KY players have got this today. They are in the wrong 100% if they are claiming "security" reasons, been nothing but straight with my account, that leaves the "restricted" state as being the only reason to pull this crap. And to beat all, i took $2.20 i won at another forums league games sunday, turned it into $104.60 last night, and this morning i get this. Why did carbon "grandfather" KY players in when the other skins left, instead of just telling us KY residents are "excluded" and deny us from making an account at that time? I can only see one reason, make some money, then kick us off, REALLY? I am super pissed, I say the dam site should have denied us from making an account right then and there. And i can tell you guys that are thinking that some hanky panky went on, absolutely not, i never abused the site in any form or fashion, and as for "someone" else to hack my account, wouldn't the site email me and ask about it? Since i didn't get a Banned" account message, i am assuming it's over the issue of "excluded" states, but after 7 years? come on it stinks to the high heavens.

Well i guess it is official, already got replies from from several other Kentucky players from another forum, they too have got the same message today, carbon has dropped them also. It is a sad thing, considering our state has absolutely no laws against online poker, and for them to wait this long to chop us. So i was not dropped for any "security" reason, or misuse of the site, but because i live in the state of Kentucky.

Just saw that in the other forum. Really sorry to hear about this happening to you. Shaking my head in disbelief. Sigh.

Carbon poker closed to Sweden

No email, no warning, no explanation from live chat.
Just account disabled.
The fact itself sucks bigtime, but I find it amazing that they handled it so badly ...

No idea, but I would assume not.
Why would they close us out unless they are 'cleaning house'?
Others will have to say about their countries/areas...

Whoa that's a change. I'm not up to date with Sweden's laws with online gaming but I'm guessing that they are quite open like most things..

I launched the site from the U.S. and not having any difficulties.. I'm sorry that you're going through this = /

Hopefully you hear back from support or maybe a CC member can help out. Thanks for filling us in on though! I'm sure the explanation will come soon.

They are having spring cleaning looks like, they booted Kentucky players monday morning, after 7 years of playing on the site, no prior warning either. Hate to hear that for you Arnie. Russia last month, finland this month, now Sweden, Romania, although for some reason they are still mostly on, must be only regional areas affected in that country.

I am convinced the people who run online poker sites are the most underserved highly paid executives in the World. Take a ton of cash in, act like complete fools and idiots to customers and the public. A long drafted letter, with an explanation and apology would likely have went a long way. Their actions just make them look bad to everyone, including current players. Well, what else is new.
