Carbon 4NL tables shut down by administrator?

I was just playing 4NL and all of the tables were closed one-by-one with a message that said they were being shut down by an administrator. It was quitting time anyway, so no big deal. Anyone know what's up?

I am pretty sure it is due to scheduled maintenance... nothing more I am like 95% sure. Good luck man... I have been a member 4 a while but have yet to really post much. I am becoming more active as I want to play the CC FR's. GL see you around.

Yep, server maintenance or some such thing. MTTs were gone when I checked earlier..

Yup they were doing updates. Brand new increased rake as of today for NLHE and PLO games.

Looks like they've increased the max rake and the rate at which it accumulates.

Just signed on and it looks like volume is down from what I'm used to seeing. Granted, it's not peak hours but only 3k people on Carbon at the moment. Wonder how many people are looking to abandon Merge because of the changes.

Jeez, that sucks. I am considering changing sites, but I don't know how much better rake and rakeback are at other sites, so I'll have to look in to that. It's annoying that they've reduced rakeback and then increased rake so soon after..

what i noticed was the message saying that all real money freezeout games will have re-entry. isn't that just a re-buy then?

as far as rakeback goes the cash for points seem to work well and I started an affiliate group so we get another 40% on top of that. Last month we (6 of us and 3 with funds) paid $163 in rake and the group got $58 of that as well as personal rewards we received (points, coupons, and cash for points).

Wow, that's a really horrible increase. It's 11% across the board and a fairly massive increase for the max. I averaged 12.6 bb/100 (in rake) when I was playing on Merge (10nl). I no longer play on there but that would now be about 14 bb/100 in rake. That cuts another chunk off someone's winrate.

It's probably even worse since you're even less likely to hit the cap as you move up in stakes.

The increase sucks. Just gives me another reason to not play the cash games. They have the equalizer promos going so if you make some money off of that, its not so bad with all the rake. But one thing that is going to be even worse is the heads up cash games. I mean, who will even want to play that with this much rake. As if it wasnt high enough already, now its just too much especially for the lower tables like .10/.25.

Is there a site somewhere that compares the rake at all the OLP sites?
Like to see how Carbon compares...

When I opened up Poker Host today (another Merge skin) it said that all tournaments would now have reentry. Is this going to be true throughout all Merge skins, because I like Merge, but I really hate rebuy tournaments.

oh man, I don't really like rebuy and re-entry is just as bad. I think it should be offered as some ppl like them, but I don't think all tournaments should have them, that is why I don't play tournaments on ACR, damn.
