Hey folks,
I just wanted to ask those of you who live in canada where you play online poker, what you use to withdraw, and your general thoughts on Canadian online poker.
Is FullTilt a good option? Do you use ePassporte to withdraw? (how long does it take?) Are withdrawals by check the best option? Etc etc.
Thanks a lot,
V

? I didn't realize you were Canadian, Vanquish.

There's a Canadian players thread that gets bumped once in a while that might have some info. I'm mostly on Stars, have only made one deposit via netteller before they stopped handling Canadians, and haven't made any withdrawals, so I'm not much help.

The only site I have ever had problems getting on is bodog. Simply don't allow Canadians!!

I have accounts at several sites: UBet, Stars, Absolute, Mansion, Costadel, Full Tilt..and countless others.

I know that neteller, FirePay and echecks went down for awhile for all Canadians.

I haven't been effected as there have been other options.

Myself personally use: Use My Bank, or echeck money goes in and out of my bank account directly..I've been playin online now for 4ys. I have never had a problem...I get the money in my accounts immediately at the sites..and takes about 48hrs to deposit it back to my bank account sometimes 72hrs.

You still have to be very very careful of the site that you deal with and the information that you give out.

I don't like cheques from other sites, they sometimes come from other countries and I can't clear it with my bank for a month or so.

Montreal.

Ah, one of the best cities in the country. Parlez-vous Francais?

From an online poker perspective, as Aloe says, Canada is a better place to be than the US. Other than Bodog, most sites that don't allow US players allow Canadians.

Would partypoker be worth investing in? I've heard legends about how soft the MTT fields on that site are.

Ask Irexes about Party; I think he's taken some of his funds out of there because of dwindling activity, plus he's the MTT king.

I play party poker.
The software is nice and the player field is rather soft.
However the activity level is not very high.

BTW: Welcome to Montreal, I live in the south shore suburd of Montreal .

You still have to be very very careful of the site that you deal with and the information that you give out.

I would be curious to know exactly what you mean, or if you had some negative experiences.
Are there any particular sites that should be avoided?
Are there any particular things to look out for when you consider a new site?
Do we have a thread on CC on this subject? I have not seen it.

You still have to be very very careful of the site that you deal with and the information that you give out.

What concerns do you have when it comes to providing your info to a site?

April, I've got a couple questions.

Would you suggest that I make a new account at my new residence (new address, IP, etc) and simply transfer money from my US account to that account? Is that perhaps not allowed? If I have a Canadian account, will I have the option simply to wire money to my bank account, or is there a specific option I must pick?

Thanks.
