Try Bicycle.com. I loved the site, which was full of Kanucks, hate to think it is totally gone forever. It is part of a larger bunch of online casinos, in fact, when I won money in a freeroll at Bicycle, I had to collect it from LA PokerScene, which had the same motif. Small site, good people whom I have now forgotten all about. Waaaaaa:(

Bodog is one of the only ones I know that isn't available to Canadians. Stars, Full Tilt, pretty much any of the others are available.

Yes all sites are open to Canadians, except Bodog. Shouldn't be a problem really finding a site your friend can play at.

Sounds like he was banned because he won money on a "false" account. Had he put in his Canadian address in the first place, he would have never been able to play at bodog, because of their agreement with the Canadian government.

But yeah, like the others said, almost any site will except Canadian players.

Re: Canadian Poker Sites?

Never even knew that Bodog had an agreement with the Canadian government to restrict their operations over here. I was possibly thinking of going over there to check it out...kind of funny now that I think about it that they have a Canadian, Evelyn Ng, as one of their pro-players - but I doubt she even lives in Canada at the moment anyways.

As to Canadian poker sites, yeah, I guess any other ones are good - we're not affected by the US restrictions - so just find a place that has a good game and then can spike some good bonuses. If you're looking for a new place and just looking for bonuses or opportunities to jump on, check out the satellite tourneys that PokerRoom's offering. They have satellites for the tourney in Niagara Falls later this month as well as for one in Hamburg to win a Ferrari or the 5-diamond tourney in Vegas. Other sites probably have similar ones or other good bonuses out there, but I get the newsletter from them every so often, so that's what's on my mind at the moment, since I'm starting at it in my inbox.
