This is an email i sent to players only let me know what you think about it.....
look, the site has crashed twice this week and none of the tourney prize pools were paid leaving the network to make a substantial amount of cash because of your system crashing off of the 10k bounty alone you made atleast 5k after you paid back the 33 dollar buyins for the remaining players. so i think its only right that everyone who registered in the tourney to receive there buyin back minus there bounty if they were knocked out.
the money you made last night on account of the system error.
should not be a reason for you to keep the funds of an unfinished tournament. this is considered by myself and many others in my forums bad buisiness.
On the other hand if the network plans to have freerolls which equal the amount of funds it made off of the crash it would be acceptable as long as only players who were affected by the crash were able to play. I enjoy playing on the cake network as do many of my fellow forumers and we look forward to playing and having a good time at the tables in the future but the cake network needs to really consider what i have stated here as many of the forums (without stating names) are currently discussing the actions in which the network should take next.
ty.
have a great day
Should they just be able to keep the money left over we are talkin serious cash they made off of their system crash

yep

I lost money too..I was just going to let them rip me off...Tired of the network. If they can't keep a server up, they have serious issues. In this day of online poker...it's nearly unheard of.:(

Hello,
I was playing in a tournament last month at Doyle's which is a Cake poker network site. The game crashed and I would like some input on the game. I feel the payouts were incorrect.

I was second in the game with about thirty players left the game did go over the guaranteed amount of $1500. The CPN policy for a game crashing is listed below taken from cake. which is the network policy.

Server Issues

In the event of a server crash, all hands in progress will be rolled back. Each player's chip count will be reset to the amount at the beginning of the hand.
If we experience a server crash or unscheduled downtime of less than 20 minutes we will attempt to restart tournaments as soon as the majority of players have reconnected. If the downtime lasts longer than 20 minutes we reserve the right to cancel tournaments and refund players based on our tournament cancellation policy.

In the Money Tournament Policy

If a tournament is canceled and there are players in the money, we will try to compensate all remaining players based on their play up to the time of the cancellation. This is best achieved by awarding each remaining player with the minimum prize not yet awarded, and the rest of the prize pool will be awarded proportionately based on each players chip count. All remaining players will also receive a refund of their entry fee. Any player who was eliminated prior to the cancellation will not be entitled to a refund. All awards for a tournament cancelled in progress will be cash. If the cancelled tournament has a guaranteed prize pool, only the entry fee will be returned (not the guaranteed prize).

The tournament was in the payouts so my take is after 20 minutes the game should not have restarted. The chip count should be taken from the last hand played. One player at my table returned to the game after the 5 hour break and played for 3 minutes until CPN took the game back down. I was first at my table in chips with 91,000 21% of the table total, the player that returned to the game Crazychevs was in last place at my table with 23,000 chips 5% of the table total. After the retuning player played for 3 minutes and took 20,000 chips from each player he was at 186,151 chips 42% of the table totals.

I have contacted Doyles about this and Trish the room manager seems to not see an error am I wrong about this?

WTF? 5hrs. later and they had it play a few more hands? This one guy was sitting there waiting for it to play all that time? (I guess he was in other games obviously).
They say in poker that 'patience' is often rewarded but I think this example is a bit overboard (sorry for making light of your situation here).

I can't believe that their support wouldn't see the insanity of this situation. Maybe they'll clear it up for ya. I'm guessing they've got a shitload of games/tourneys to go thru and figure out.

Just noticed.... this was from over a month ago? They're just sorting it out now for you?

I was trying to be nice and give them time. The first email was sent to Doyles the day after the game. Trish from Doyles will no longer speak with me on this issue because I got upset its taken over one month and they think a $20 comp will take care of it. I am sure other players in the game were not aware the game restarted. CPN will not even look into the issue they say Doyles has to handle it.

The game played several hands (3 minutes) just couldnt post them all in here. It was just the one player getting blinds.
