Question about down days and buyins. I am trying to practice good bankroll management and i would like to set a rule. If i lose more than say 2 or 3 full buyins in a day, i am going to quit. How often does this happen you. What are your general rules for the down times. If you lose a few, do you keep playing trying to win it all back in the same day, or do you take a really long break? I am trying to mentally prep myself for those down days, but i would like to know what others do and how they deal with it.

Buyins

If you play on Full Tilt go the Full Tilt Academy and watch Chris Ferguson's video on "Bank Roll Management". He is not the only pro I have read which uses some type of controls on his buyins. I have watched the video many times and even taken the challenge. It will help you bankroll in the end. Good Luck.:)

i play only for fun but never more then 2% of my bankroll as buy inn, and then it all depends how well you play, when you're have down days they don't mather that much you got 50 more chances before you get broke,i never made a deposit and my bankroll grows slow ,its all up to you,and up to your real bank account .a good advice is to never play with money that you need for living .when i would be really rich my strategy would be start with 10 in case of losing buy inn 20 lose again 40 but that wont happen or i should win more then a million but that chance is really one in a million so good luck, i would love to know what strategy you will take for your bankroll and the progress you make

You asked if you should try to win your money back,i would advice not to,Only play when you are relaxed have some good sex before. :) when you yust have lost agame and try to get it back it mostly wont work, with the loss in mind. there is a good thread on this forum about bad beats its very inspiring.you really should read it.

play when you know your playin your "A" game and when your not then quit.

if u lose 3 buyins because of coolers there is nothing you can do but if affects your game and you start playing badly then u have to quit. if you can realize that its just how it rolls sometimes and get over it right away then there is no reason to stop. just play good poker and never try to get even.

It is best to just call it quits for the day. No matter what game you play after losing that much you will most likely be tilting. Better to walk away and play another day.
