i was reading somewhere that the loss of 15 buyins is not uncommon when playing nlhe. is this more unusual or has anyone had longer.

lost about 9 buyins on $3/$5 then it picked up again its always going to go one way or the other.if your on a losing streak just give it a break for the day and come back the next usaly works for me

I assume you mean cash games. This is not at all unusual for me....lol, but I play mainly SnGs and Micro MTTS, where it can happen that you lose many buy-ins in a row. But if you apply proper BRM, and take woodys advice about getting out when losing too much, you should be ok. I am especially getting out when I lose too much, and staying in when winning, and also getting out if my win starts to go south.....and even tho cash game is my weakest, I am slowly doing better. Uhh, let me repeat that SLOWLY...haha. BRM and controlling tilt (taking a break) are your friends when the cards are not.

While playing Sngs you can go on crazy streaks, both good and bad. Sometimes you'll do really bad and lose 15 buyins. It shouldn't be too much of a problem for people who use correct BRM. Now for me these streaks are definitely not all that common, but I haven't really played that much online poker so I'm not too sure how common these streaks are for other players.
