I like to play on Bovada so I told my girlfriend to join and play with them. So she joined and tried to make a deposit. The deposit got declined so she called in for help. These people are so rude. First they kept asking her questions that didn't seem like questions a legit organization would ask. Then she got disconnected after about 30 min. She tried to sign on and her account was locked. She called again and they said to email them a picture of her photo ID. So we did. They said they didn't receive it. Sent it 2 more times before they said they received it. Then these jerks said no that's not good enough for us send us another picture. This time hold your photo ID next to your face and take a picture and send it to us. When She told me this I was getting pretty pissed off. I said screw them, but she wanted to play so she did it. Then after calling they say, "Your not holding your ID, you just got a picture of the girl on the ID and Photoshopped the ID in her hand." Guys you wouldn't believe how pissed off we both were. This seemed like a bad joke or something. They wanted another picture wearing something else, with alot of lighting, and hold it under her chin. That's when we decided F*** it. If it's this hard to deposit money how hard will it be to withdraw. They would probably want her fingerprints and a stool sample. Needless to say she doesn't play at Bovada and I refuse to give them any more money after that mess. I just wanted to tell someone about these assholes and see if anyone else has had a similar experience.......I highly doubt it, but if so let me know.

Sounds like you got scammed. I've never heard of a poker site that would ask you to take a picture of yourself next to your identification card, and then ask you to change cloths and "brighten the lighting". It sounds like a couple of perverts were trying to get a better look at your girlfriend. I can't believe you even fell for this.

I would also like to add that I've made numerous deposits/cashouts on Bovada and have never uploaded a single document over there. I'm not saying you won't have to(you certainly shouldn't have to when making a deposit). It's a "hit or miss" from what I hear.

Once you go through the verification process there's no problem cashing out. At the same time, they may have thought your "girlfriend's" account was a fraudulent one therefore...

Don't blame you for getting pissed, and it does sound like something was up with that. I've uploaded ID to no deposit places and never needed anything but that pic. I would find another site to play on.

Perhaps you tried to open 2 accounts from the same IP address and it raised a red flag.

Should be happy with their security.

I have been playing on Bovada since before when they were bodog. I have used their deposits, withdrawals, and customer service and I have never had a single issue.

One of my favorite places to play. And. they have a rep right here for issues such as you have experienced.

If they have the same rule as Bodog, it is one account per household. My husband opened an account shortly after I did, they did say they would make the exception and let us keep them (this was back when it was Bodog)

There are alot of shady ppl out there unfortunately who regularly play with multiple accounts, they are just trying to make sure you guys aren't the same person, it does seem a bit much though.

I've never had a problem with Bovada,,, after US players couldn't use gift cards internationally, I was able to call their cashier dept and they manually made the deposit from my gift card. this was a while back.

I have not got this kind of problem
but
just want to say, if the verification process like that.
I suggest you directly call them or switch another poker room or play playmoney for fun.
because, it is not the normal way to do the verification, it is more like someone is trying to do something bad with your ID.

Bovada? Bodog?

I am not a fan.I was contacted by Bovada and based on what they offered me I made a deposit. As soon as they got my money they informed me I was already in their system and not eligable for any bonuses. Turns out they used my Bodog info from ten years ago. I pulled my money out and wont play there..

Same service I got at Full Tilt

Your issue sounds like mine at Full Tilt, except they locked my account after I deposited money (with a prepaid visa) they closed my account, I contacted them, they said they need I.D. so I took a pic of I.D. bank statement and utility bill as requested, they said it's not clear enough, I then scanned all info, they then said my I.D. card is expired, which it is but it has my date of birth, pic and name on it, I was sooo pissed off,I they have my money and I can't play. The only reason I started at Full Tilt was to play there once in a while and you can transfer funds between poker stars. I'm gonna get a new I.D. and get my money out of Full Tilt. I know alot of people like F.T. and have good experiences with them, I must be one of the few that has an issue. I hope you issue gets resolved with Bovoda and you don't have a angry feeling like I have and just have a new fun experince with them or somewhere else.:)

You can't blame them if your ID is out of date, Full Tilt is one of the best sites, just fix your ID issues and all will be fine.

I understand and am planning to do just that but why don't they ask for info before I deposited???
