My friend has a podcast on now and they were talking about Bovada possibly talking to DOJ now and paying fines and leaving the US market.

Makes sense... Bovada has grown A LOT these past months and years.

The 100k use to have a 20-30k overlay 3 years ago... just yesterday it was over 190k.

I just stumbled across this as well

no way it would shut down...no reason to. They are the biggest usa site and if they shut down I would think they would lose well over half of their traffic.

Right.... they don't WANT to shut down. I am talking about the DOJ forcing them to like Stars, FT and UB.

Looks to me like it is just a rumor - speculation by people who have nothing other than ideas on what they think could happen.

With that said moving this to Poker Rooms. Feel free to discuss it - but it is not news unless there is a reliable source saying it is happening. :)

I think there is a decent chance it will happen given the US push for legal poker soon enough.

I really wonder how hard it is for congress to just sit down and figure this stuff out. seems like they are just dragging their feet.

If only the government would regulate online poker then everyone would feel more safe about who's in charge. well maybe haha

I hope it is just a rumor as well. Bovada is one of the sites that pay quickly and it is pretty much hassle free. I've been with them since they were bodog and I'd hate to see them leave the US market.

It seems to be more toward their gaming in The Philippines, and not towards or from the USA?
Aren't all sites that cater to the USA vulnerable at all times from the DOJ shutting them down? Isn't that understood since BF, and to not keep large sums of cash on these sites...just in case.
If the site is .lv and not .com, and to say that they can't shut it down... well if they couldn't shut it down they could at least block it from all people within the USA, couldn't they?

From reddits site.

BodogBeckyy 1 point 28 days ago
I'd just like to set the facts straight here. I work for Calvin Ayre as a Host, Writer & Interviewer for CalvinAyre.com and a Fact Checker for Bodog Brand. I normally post under the handle of "BodogBecky" but someone has already taken that posting handle on this forum so I'm "BodogBeckyy" on Reddit.

Bovada is located in Montreal, Canada and Bodog has its head office in Antigua. These two companies have different corporate structures and ownership. The only things in Manila - as with many online gaming companies - are Business Process outsourcing (out sourced customer service) of some sort so whatever is happening in Manila can not affect Bodog or anyone on its poker network.

Thanks for your attention and please contact me by PM or through CalvinAyre.com should you have any questions.

BodogBecky

Honestly after what happened on Black Friday, would anybody be surprised if they woke up tomorrow and it was shut down? I hope nobody would. It would suck, baaaaaad! But I wouldn't be surprised.
