We have conversations going on about this so I thought I would start a thread.

Many of us who use Comcast can not get into Bovada - it appears that Comcast has blocked them.

Hopefully it will get straightened out soon!

Here is a link to their twitter:

https://twitter.com/BovadaLV

They are recommending that we update our DNS server by following these directions:

https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

I have not tried it yet.

Glad it wasn't some kind of conspiracy by the DOJ or something. Saying that, online poker is my life. I'm old and disabled, so without poker to occupy the hours of the days I don't know what I'd do... Hope it never comes to that.

Glad to see people are getting it worked out, I was really hoping it wasn't some decision by Comcast related to this:

http://bgr.com/2014/01/14/net-neutrality-court-ruling/

I don't know all the ins and outs of this, but it would be very bleak indeed if we had yet another roadblock to playing OLP because ISP's start prohibiting access.

Ok so I've been having these problems for a week or so, disconnects, won't sign in, etc.

Yesterday couldnt get on at all. Wondered if it was getting shut down. Googled it and found that lots of people had this problem last month and there were some fairly complex instructions for how to deal with it. ALL I DID WAS UNINSTALL/REINSTALL MY BOVADA SOFTWARE AND I WAS ABLE TO SIGN IN NO PROBLEM.

I don't doubt that comcast screws with us in various ways. I know that they mess with the quality of my connection if I'm behind on my bill. I don't see why they - not the DOJ but comcast - would take it upon themselves to block bovada when they don't do this for any number of illicit websites.

I don't know why bovada would direct us to perform complicated technical tasks if un/reinstall works, that would normally be the first thing to try, so maybe it won't work for everyone, but we should be careful about stoking hysteria before we get any confirmation about whats going on. As far as i can tell it is just a technical problem, but maybe I'm wrong and things have changed since i signed off around 3AM.

Hey everyone,

We are aware that some of our players using particular ISP providers, such as Comcast, are unable to access our site. We don’t know the full extent of the issue and are doing our best to identify a resolution. As mentioned here, some of our players have reported successfully updating their DNS server, following the below link, as a means to access our site. If you are confident in doing this it is a short term solution we are recommending.

https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

If you need any assistance with this process, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Service Team. We will keep you updated here as we know more. Thanks for your continued patience.

Regards,

Bovada Service
