Just wondering which one you think is truly better for US players? Iv'e played on BetOnline and notice that there traffic is pretty low. I have not played around with bodog. I just want to really narrow it down to which is the absolute best before I make a deposit in the coming week.

Thanks a lot for your time fellas!
Have a stellar day!

Bodog is better in every single way, traffic, software, and credibility.

Agree Bodog is better in the ways you list: traffic, software, and slightly on credibility. BetOnline is very credible as well though. While they are new to Poker over the last 6months, they have a well respected reputation as a Sportsbook as does Bodog so in this area it is closer then most people would think. I still give the edge to Bodog though because BetOnline chose to associate itself with the Action Poker Network which has had some past problems with affiliates and players. I should note though, that BetOnline is in control of their own cashier and is not reliant on the Action Poker Network. For those who still question whether BetOnline is on the Action Poker Network, I've been in direct contact with Pokerscout and they now list BetOnline as a skin on the Action Poker Network.

The only area I would give BetOnline a slight advantage is in player ability. In my opinion, BetOnline clearly has weaker players and more of the weaker players while having less 'regs' at most stakes.

Other than that one area, I give the CLEAR edge to Bodog in terms of software, support, traffic, and a slight edge in reputation.

The only benefit to BetOnline is that they have freerolls every hour on the hour which average about 600 to 800 players .. whether your a US player looking to start a bankroll or just looking for a quick game when your bored that is still worth a potential buck, BetOnline does provide avenues Bodog doesn't.

This is also a valid point. I don't play freerolls, but they do run freerolls every hour and I've actually heard that they are very soft. Like I said above though, overall BetOnline is softer than Bodog IMO.

Another thing I didn't mention is that Bodog limits you to 4 tables at a time.

Hey guys thanks a lot for your opinions. Sounds like BoDog is better, but I still can't really decide. I've heard Bodog is no long accepting US players come Jan of 2012. If that's the case it isn't too good. I don't know if it would be worth putting money in to it and only build my bankroll for a solid 2 months. It's just sad that US poker has come down to this.

Thanks a lot for your time, I will let you fellas know what I end up doing.
Peace

Bodog is rebranding in Jan. Essentially this will have no effect on you. They will open a "skin" where you will still play with all Bodog players and your balance will be moved too. In other words, you will still be able to play and they aren't expecting any problems.

Isnt Betonline on Yatahay network? If so, the freerolls are on Fridays only and on all Yatahay skins.

BetOnline is on the Action Poker Network.

They claim they are on an independant Network called the "Hero Poker Network" but they are clearly on the Action Poker Network and this can be confirmed by a minimal amount of research. In fact, Poker Scout just added BetOnline to the list of skins under Action Poker this week, since I've been in contact with them and provided them with information.

Yes this is correct...OP, don't let the fact that they are rebranding, affect your decision on playing on the site, because in the end it won't really make a difference.

Hi Everyone,

Just to clarify, the company that owns and operates bodog.eu (MMGG) will be dropping the bodog brand name and rebranding itself as of January 1, 2012. NOTHING will change except for the branding of the site and the actual URL (you will be redirected to the new site if you type in bodog.eu, of course).

Also, MMGG's newly branded site will be joining the bodog poker Network so the poker experience will be exactly the same too. :)

I only like betonline for the free rolls when I'm just bored and don't want to play my bank roll. I look at a potential site as a whole, and betonline just has too many terms and conditions that read like a site looking to get one over on you. I haven't looked at it lately, but I like to hit the casino some too and their ToC reads like a lot a bullshit. Totally turned me off.

I go to bodog and the poker software is good, and I've talked to their service with a few questions and they seem totally laid back with nothing to hide. For US players the bodog casino has the least restrictions I've found. All their promos are just easy to play without worrying about reading every single bit of the fine print.

I've cashed in a freeroll on betonline and played bodog and ended up making a deposit on bodog. Just something about bodog that seems more confident and legit and betonline comes off too new and desperate.

I played both Betonline and Bodog... I just can't trust betonline.... I had way too many repeating bad beats on betonline with certain hands (pocket 8s for example that flop sets but are repeatedly beat by something else by the river at the no limit tables)... it seems statistically incredulous... Bodog has been around much longer and their service is phenomenal... I am a US player using one of Bodog's deposit ewallet methodds, no problem depositing... In my view, it is not worth playing the freerolls at Betonline because of the lack of trust if you ever make sufficient amount to attract "undesirable" attention... I have no "proof" regarding possible "scam" on betonline, I am just expressing my view, based on my experience.

I have had an account at Bodog for years and have never played there or made a deposit, at one time it was just to difficult to make a deposit. But I am curious I have not found any freeroll to play at there. I mean real freerolls where I dont need a ticket, or their points. Do they have those and if so when?

Yes they have a $500 and a $750 freeroll daily, the $500 use to be open to anyone but a few months back they changed it and you have to make a deposit first to be able to see them and play in them. Don't quote me on the$750 one but I'm sure of the $500 one. I'm making a deposit today or tomorrow so please come join me!!! GL
