Are these two sites safe/good. I downloaded them but haven't registered, maybe you guys can tell me if they are good sites to play poker or should I just stay w/ pokerstars and Fulltilt poker. Thanks in advance, just want to know before I register to them or decide not to. :D

both are good poker sites and have a varied number/types of freerolls, guarenteed tournys, cash tables, sit 'n gos, bonuses and ways to turn play money/poker points into a little cash .... I play at both but I have only deposited and cashed out on carbon poker ... still working on earning enough on bodog to make it worth while there also......

Bodog has guaranteed tourneys which rarely fills up to over the guaranteed prize pool. I played a 10 +1 tourney the other day that was $3000 guaranteed with 150 registered. Not bad at all. Bodog is a smaller site, so you play with a lot of familiar faces, if that interest you. Overall, I like it. The one complaint I have is it's hard to find games for Omaha and Stud, which I like to play for variety. $10 (.05/.10) 6-max PLO only has 3 rooms and they are either going to be completely full or completely empty (no one likes starting the room) and it can be a pretty long wait sometimes. But if you are a hold 'em only player, you'll never have a problem, as there is always a good selection for the 5c/10c tables and the 10c/25c table. Higher stakes have much fewer tables however. Also, they run $500 freerolls for 30 Poker Points, which you earn win you buy-in to a tourney/SNG, cash in a tourney/SNG, or spend time in a ring game. It's a nice little bonus and rarely has more than 250 people who register. Also, they have $500 freerolls that don't cost any points at all every once in a while, and you expect over 1000 registered. Hope this helps, and I'll be glad to answer and specific questions you have about Bodog.

I enjoy playing bodog quite alot more than carbon.
There are alot more tournaments of my style on bodog compared to carbon.
Plus the carbon network seems to drag on my computer, and iv'e heard from several different people on here the same thing.
So I would say bodog for sure.

Thank you all, I guess i'm just gonna go w/ Bodog. Then i'll give carbon a try later. I just got two simple questions which i'll probably find out once I register on Bodog.

Do they have good play money tourneys, atleast untill I win a freeroll?

Is it easy to play in the freeroll, not like FTP?

This is another question.

How are other pokersites like Ultimatebet.com, Everest, Titan...etc.?

They only have play money ring games and single table SNG's, no MTT's.

I've never played on FTP, but if the freerolls are anything like they are on Stars then no. People play much more practically and less crazy on the Bodog freerolls. Mainly because most of the freerolls have a $500 prize pool, and rarely a field over 1000, so people have a real shot at cashing. Good luck at the table, hope to see you there.

There's never any problem getting into the Bodog freerolls, you can register up to an hour in advance, and they have $500 prize money so they are much more generous than the freerolls at a lot of other sites.

I uninstalled Carbon in the end, even with just one table running and animations disabled it still really slowed my PC down.

Bodog

I have decided to register to both Bodog, and Carbon. I enjoy playing on Bodog because its easy to register for freerolls, and the play money tables are pretty easy. Carbon I couldn't register for any freerolls, the play money is ever easier but they don't let me register for freerolls. So i'm just going to uninstall carbon and keep on playing on Bodog. :D

My username on Bodog is "5TR8FLUSH", same as the one on cardchat. If you ever see me playing on Bodog, say hi or something. I'll be participating on the freeroll today ($500). Hope to see some of you guys there. :D

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL

Freerolls

I think i'll be playing on carbon and bodog even amount of time. I played in a $500 freeroll on bodog, almost had 3k people. Who ever said that bodog's freeroll rarely have over 1k, I think that person was mistaken. :D

Its cool how Bodog gives you points that you can convert into money, I got 50 so far and don't know how I got them. I also just saw that carbon has a few CC freerolls every friday, and other $1 buy in w/ $100 added. :D

bodog averages ~3000 for their freerolls. right now they have a $500 at 2:40pm eastern that pays i think top 63 or so, and one at 9:40pm that pays tourney credits to the top 35. i've cashed a couple of the 500 freerolls but pretty much just the cheap pay, not final table or anything. bodog does give you their poker points for playing in their freerolls even. 1 per hour. 500=$5 or you can use them to buy into tourneys. carbon has those 3 steps to a free dollar sng's and they have a couple freerolls at night that seem pretty soft but i haven't played in many of them carbon does lag my computer a little bit, so does bodog though. both pretty heavy applications

i am an reg on the MTT for bodog...although I am not very happy about them lowering their guaranteed prices. The free rolls are almost always full at 4000., but they are high pay outs. It is a great site that I have cashed out for good amounts and always been payd.
;)

Of course is too bad when a site reduces a 'guarantee' on a tourney, but if it were YOUR site, how many overlays would you be willing to take from your pocket to PAY people to play in the games?

If it happens once in a while, players benefit and the site still loses. A site won't be in business very long if they regularly pay out thousands more than the hundreds they take in on the buy-in fees.

Sorry about the field estimate on the Bodog freerolls, I guess I was thinking more about the 30 points tourneys, where there is also a $500 prize pool.

Well just got knocked out of one of the $500 freerolls on Bodog, I had A Ko and my opponent had A 5o and rivered a damn str8. Flop was 8 3 2 and I continued bet about 2/3 the pot to represent an over pair or something, everyone but one person folded. The turn was a 2 and I check/raised him all in and he showed A 5o, and I showed A Ko. Then he rivered a 4, and well I got knocked out in 1014th place.

DID I DO ANYTHING WRONG, OR WAS MY OPONENT JUST AN IDIOT???

Love people who type all in capitals [/sarcasm]

Didn't you know caps lock is cruise control for the internet?

Also an update from my previous comment as I now play on both bodog and carbon for freerolls.

I feel that I have alot better chance of winning something with bodog because:

Carbon's freerolls: $50 every 4 hours, top 10 paid, 1200-1500 players

Bodog's freerolls: $500 twice a day and $1000 every night (this is no points no buy in). Correct me if I'm wrong here but I believe its top 80-150 paid.
around 2700 players usually. maybe 3500 for the night time 1000.

I still play in both sites freerolls and to date the only one i've ever won money in is carbon, but I haven't been on Bodog but for 3 days so with a little love from lady luck that'll be soon to change.

Don't like carbon, but bodog had been good to me. I have made several withdrawls and had no problem getting the money. The guarantee tournys are great and don't have alot of people in them and u can make some real good money on that site. Do love that they have a sports book and for football i can bet some games on sunday. See u on the felts.

BODOG

I've played in two free $500 freerolls and lost, first one I played terrible and second made top 650. I'm currently playing in my first 30 pt $500 freeroll, i'm sitting on a descent stack and only 50 people from the money. I was sitting from 2300-3000 chips for a very long time, then doubled up not to long ago. I had JJ vs J Ko, all low cards on flop and turn, and a Q on river. Hope I make the money, wish me luck. :D
