Hey guys and gals i'm currently playing at full tilt. What are the plus and minus of switching to bodog. Any Bodog players here?

Personally I like Bodog. They have $500 freerolls, and you earn player points even for playing freerolls, which is cool. Turning off the spotlight seems to help the software run better on some PCs.

I've always liked Bodog, but I'm curious as to why you want to switch, does that mean you will never play at Full Tilt again, If your switching to find somewhere that the play is softer, I would be examining you game first.
It just came across as strange the way you said switching, why not play at both.

I just started playing at Bodog again recently after about a year away. I also still play at FT so here's the comparison.

The games at Bodog are a lot softer with lots of limp/calling. Standard TAG play gets rewarded assuming you don't get outdrawn. You can play TPTK for stacks against a lot of the players at Bodog and expect to be profitable. Implied odds at very high so hands that can make big hands are a must play even if you just limp along like everybody else.

The games are also a LOT slower at Bodog (although maybe it's because I'm limited to 4 tables there). So far at FR my average hands/hr. is just over 200 (probably 30 less than at FT would be on 4 tables).

Dont get me wrong i love full tilt. My buddy set me up with a rakeback provider on Bodog and since they offer in game rakeback 2 it comes to over 50% so i figured id give it a go. If i dont like the site i can always switch back. But from what you guys are saying it sounds like their is allot of fishys.

Bodog is a bit different. It's the only public freeroll I know where you can raise, and everybody will fold! :D

Nothing wrong with Bodog.

Why don't you play at multiple sites?
What don't you like about TILT?

I recently started with bodog and have been very impressed so far, that being said, I've always been a fan of FTP and will continue to play there as well as I like the variety of games and SNG's they offer. I enjoy those bodog freerolls, even though they can move a little more slowly than those at FTP

if you've been multitabling on FT w/ HUD, my guess is you'll feel somewhat "crippled" during the initial transition as Bodog does not support PT3, not sure abt HEM.

Traffic is very low for Ring games during off peak hrs. SNG load at a slow pace, almost a SNG desert i'll say. IMO, the only good thing abt Bodog was their MTTs due to the usual overlay, but they seem to have wise up and increased the buyin for most MTTs.

I play at bodog really for one reason, and that is that they offer sports betting as well. Better yet, the sports betting account is the same as the poker account so if you are having a bad day on the tables you can win it back with a parlay. Minimum bet for sports is $1 which is nice. As for the poker, it's just OK. There aren't nearly as many players on as with full tilt, and the interface is a little cheap. Additionally, I never see any omaha tournmanets on bodog, its always hold em'.

I also like the Bodog "beginner" tournaments where ten people play and five are paid out.

Bodog is a great site! Their 109 buy-in $100,000 GTD is a good tournament..... Ussually only around 700 people in it.

You talk about switching sites, but I don't get why?

Your question made me curious, so I counted how many poker sites I have....28 and there are plenty I've not signed up to yet.

So don't need to switch, just play wherever you want.

Good luck

i personally hate bodog i tried them also and won a few freerolls but they have that tourny money option that i hate i mean if you win money on freerolls u cannot play them at ring games u have to play another tournament with a buy-in and there win some real money, and a lot of ugly things but their soft at least,is ok!

Everything, verbatim, word for word. I'm an Omaha player too. Never anything to pick from, particularly at the low stakes. I like the sports betting in the same account though. Any problem I've had, their toll-free number has been bullet-proof, and they address any problem right away. Gotta say, I trust them more than anyone, more than Full Tilt, and ...yikes, about as much as poker stars.

That's not true anymore. I've never deposited anything, cashed in a couple freerolls and I play ring games.

The Dog rocks for cash out now!

1 free fed-ex check per month...sent with tracking numbers its 3 days from request to doorbell ring! I like the dog for our money added and large tournies. field size is small and lotsa fishes. I've taken a fair share of the BoDog beat do to this though.

Play in the beginner sit N go's. It pays half the field, and you really have to play terrible not to make the money. I dumped away a good portion of my deposit at the FRG when I first started, and used the beginner sit N go's to get myself back on the cash tables.

I love this site, I think the program is the best I have played at. Just my opinion. Haven't received my first check from them yet, but I only requested it last night. Will let you know.

They used to give bonuses on some of the private freerolls in restricted cash. (Basically you had to buy in with it in a cash game and then it converted to Ecash on your Bodog account)

I think Bodog may have discontinued the restricted cash and now gives out bonuses in T $. As far as the tourney bucks go, they allow you to buy in to mt's; you have to finish in the cash in a tourney to use it as real money, then you can play the rings. But the freerolls do pay out real money, that is how I got started. The cash NL rings are really loose at the 10NL with an average of over 50% seeing the flop. If you want to play in a loose game, get into the game with the highest average pot. If you play tight and then push with a nut or near nut hand you generally will get paid off. Even at the hundred dollar level I have seen players push all in with Top pair or random 2 pairs which are not generally all in hands at other sites. I think Bodog does have some real money potential though because of the sportsbook operation. I think some of the gamblers come over to poker with their winnings and the learning curve can be brutal for them.
