Bitcoin ATM funding trick

For those of you online players that live in major metro areas that have Bitcoin ATM's, I just discovered a way to save the miners fee and fund your online poker account.

Instead of having the ATM transfer Bitcoin to your wallet, use the QR code that the poker site issues to receive the bitcoin and have the ATM transfer directly to that. This will save you the very high miners fees incurred when transferring Bitcoin from your personal wallet to the poker site

Hope this is helpful

What is the markup at the atms near you? This would be good for a $20 fund, but if youre getting a decent amount of bitcoin, its easier to buy at market price and send from an exchange. most of them bundle transactions and fees are relatively small.

The ATM markup fees are nominal. The issue I'm speaking of is the miners fee associated with the transfer from my wallet to the Poker sit. I funded my poker account last week from my BitPay wallet and the fee to transfer $400 was $47.

That's bullshit.

I used an ATM today and it cost me $6 to transfer $600 directly from the ATM

but if you were paying the normal 10% atm markup you ended up paying $66 that being said, there are a good number of exchanges that will cover the majority of your fees for you. If however you are in a country where bitcoin ATMs are competitive (not in my country) then you have a good plan here.

Dwarf,

I paid $6 for a $600 transaction. Not $66.

Thanks for the encouragement. I thought this site was supposed to be a group of helpful and like minded people, not assholes.

BTW, I never said I lost. I merely chipped up to play in a higher stakes game that required a minimum buyin of $3500.

You're an asshole.

I joined this site for information and enjoyment. Not to be insulted.

Besides, that's my wife's job.

Since so few people actually understand much of what is going on with the alt-coins, you shouldn't take anything personal. I saw nothing that intended to insult.

We all need to understand any tricks that work. Especially if we can avoid the rake (fees).

So thanks.

10% is way too high for transfers.
