Very well said and thought out. Don't forget that a lot of the so-called freerolls have rebuys and add ons, so they are sometimes the equivilant of 5x the number of players..I've only tried the Fulltilt freerolls twice and really couldn't stand them. I've hacked it out in the Doyles ones a bunch of times and actually placed in the first one I tried on Jan.1, 2008 and with that cash I managed to build a bankroll there to over $300 although I've rarely played there now for the past 6mos. (I used to play the raked-hand freerolls when the prizepools were $500 and fields were smaller).
Other motivation for playing them on Doyles was that you could actually use the pennies for something there by playing in the super micro 10cent sngs (now 11cents).
I've watched a bit of late play in some of the Fulltilt freerolls as I've had friends who were playing in them and noticed that the play didn't seem to get a whole lot better from the 1hr. mark to the 4hr. mark (either too large of preflop raises, committing themselves to the pot once reraised, or just a ton of limping, calling, and min-betting... 5 to a flop and nobody seeming to want to bet out more than a min. bet... .weird).
I can't say I'd ever want to play in another one of them myself... I think the private ones are the only way to go, with Cardschat ones bein' the best for sure (although as more members reach the 50+posts,.. the play seems to be gradually deteriorating.. sigh....).
GL in the next ones you play!!
I hear the players are alot better at full tilt. I dot know for sure, but is what I hear.
"The more I practise the luckier I get" - Gary Playerthere are donks every were but i have to disagree with fulltilt i think there are alot more luckier players at tilt as opposed to better
