I am trying to learn PLO and stumbled across a site that seemed to have a lot of useful info. One thing one of the articles said was Stars is not the place to play. He was referring to PLO but said it applies to nlhe as well. His reasoning was, ratio thinking players vs fish is more weighted towards thinking players, and he said smaller sites - he named Party specifically - will have better amounts of real bad players. Now I only play micros and there are loads of regs at stars but so many are so bad or easy to read etc. Loads of fish as well. I see LOADS of the same players at .01/02 that have been there for a year or 2 (but since I know that, so have I....lmao) so a reg that cant get out of .01/02. lol. That of course includes me.....

Just wondering what others think about this.

for me, I think soft sites would be 'bookie sites'..in the UK, william hill/bet365/paddypower etc etc would be the softest...then sites like party/888/sky poker would be the next softest sites but more stronger than the other ones...and I think stars would be the strongest with full tilt abit behind, just because of the number of players.

playing 2nl on stars could be like playing 25nl on the softest sites..might even be more than that....same when playing live, 1-2 live is softer than stars 2nl.....just need to adjust to whatever site you are playing, but playing on stars will give you more games and variety..and will probably make you a better player, since you are trying to beat better...can use that advantage when playing on soft sites...if you always play on a soft site then you will probably get murdered on stars/tilt.

Have a look also at MPN sportsbetting based sites like betvictor ot stanjames. I have played PLO there. Very soft. You can easily find a fish which is always ready to go allin with any hand there easily

I can confirm that PS has in average more competent players, even on micro stakes. So for sure you can get better results on some smaller sites (william hill, unibet etc.).

WPN's, America's Cardroom is the best site, right now, for players who are looking for some softer action.....hands Down! And, unlike the soft action at larger sites like Bovada, which caters to the softer US market, when playing at ACR, one doesn't have to worry about collusion, one can keep stats on who one's playing, and one can take advantage of very generous promotions and fast payouts! It's not even a close race! Only advantage the bigger sites might have is their traffic, but WPN's traffic is increasing at a very good clip and that makes for one of the softest places to play at the moment.

Thanks for the comments. I am not in the US but in germany so I am not only not restricted to US sites, but cannot play on the select few. Well, I cannot play at Bovada - lol, as if I want to I hate the anonymous player and the things that can go along with it.
