This site needs to get its act together*

I don't know if its their internet provider or what, but I've been screwed out of a sit-n-go as well as the first 20 mins of the nooner freerol.

Then after finally getting on again I tried to play another sit-n-go after busting out of the $200GT nooner and I can't get onto the table

This site is terribly glitchy, and I do'nt plan on investing a deposit with them...it'll be strictly freerolls and building my bankroll

Ya blew it B.O

I have been playing freerolls almost daily on that site and I AGREE... the software is horrible..... when you do have a hiccup then you end up not being able to see your cards and you have to shut the whole program down and restart it.. Not going to invest any money there until that is fixed to say the least.. I dont know about blowing it but I am holding back to say the least.

Glad you agree,

Of course I was upset yesterday, but as you said there is no reason to invest in a site that has software issues that can be detrimental to a cash game.

I read another member's gripe where he was in the middle of a hand and was auto-folded.

I myself have been in 2 hands where I had the player(s) beat and I lost the connection... I have a solid cable modem so it definately comes from their internet provider, and they've confirmed their connection issues.

Long story short, I'm sticking to freerolls and building a bankroll, which is starting to fall into place

Good Luck to you*

The software is definitely very glitchy and disconnect-prone.

I did see a few posts on 2+2 that indicated that their server is hosted in Panama City, where there were severe thunderstorms which knocked out power multiple times during the past week or so. That could have had something to do with it.

Thanks, Mentor

That makes a lot of sense too, but it's a daily thing for me

I wouldn't recommend playing at betonline to anyone the software is still VERY buggy. They wouldn't give me the pay out i requested because i didn't make a deposit of $100. Why offer freerolls then? i got up to a roll of $387 paid tournament fees, and rake just like everyone else? If i want to withdraw $250 i don't see how this should be a problem you got money from me already? I don't see how a company can legally withhold someones money from them? This really seems like an illegal practice to me, and i see why a lot of poker sites aren't allowed to be played in the US, and I really hope this one gets shut down next. They should stick to sports betting and casino games.

So in order to ever withdraw on BetOnline you must make a $100 deposit first? and is this for a cashout of any amount?

That's great information. I was about to make a deposit there because it is cardschat #1 rated site. I wonder why cardschat is giving such high recommendations? Can we guess as to why lol?

Are they on any of the major networks? IE: Merge, Cake, etc.

To defend Betonline: You shouldn't expect otherwise. Yes you paid rake but you won the money from Betonline! Most sites won't let you freeroll it up and make a withdrawal WITHOUT making a deposit. This is normal.

That being said, it seems their software really sucks, and that is frustrating. Looks like they spend more $ on advertising than fixing their software. (Betonline ads are everywhere now...makes me sick)

Hey CardsChat:

Quit being a shill and put BetOnline as CardsChat's #10 Poker room instead of #1

Yeah, I'm pretty sure for every poker site you have to make a first deposit in order to withdraw. Its pretty standard in most poker site. Also I would like to know if a deposit of $100 is the minimum amount you can deposit.

Didn't read the TOS but wants to blame it on the site. (maybe a lesson in there somewhere?)

No. BetOnline is not on any networks.

Players have compared the BetOnline client with other Action Poker clients and found the same exact players in the same exact games. It's pretty clear that they share liquidity with the rest of the Action Poker network (which has a very shady history).

I've been on there for probably a month. Just doing freerolls for the most part. I won one a couple of weeks ago that had about 1200 players in it. And I've been able to drive pretty deep a few more times. I will say there are a ton of fish there.

But as has been said, the software is quite buggy. If you let yourself get folder out, sometimes it's hard to get the software to uncheck the box that says you're sitting out. I've had to completely shut down the software at times and fire it back up again to get it to let me back in. It's also been known to lock up if I'm playing music in iTunes.

I also hate that when I enter in my bet amount, that I just can't hit the enter key on the keyboard to execute it. I actually have to click the bet/raise button with the mouse. I know it's stupid thing but it irritates the hell out of me!!

Also I haven't found if it keeps your past sessions or not. It's not in the App folder itself as I've looked. And I don't think any of the tracking software works with this site. I know that PT3 isn't right now. They consider them too small right now.

If you google Action Poker you will find a lot of interesting information.

That being said, BetOnline is in full control of their player funds. This would still seem to be a risk. What if Action Poker decided not to pay BetOnline for the money BetOnline's players won from Action Poker players. It could end up in a mess, IMO.

Plus the simple fact is that they have lied to their players claiming they are on a proprietary Network. There has been numerous Interviews and posts where BetOnline Management has stated they are on their own Network (Hero Poker Network). This is a blatant lie! Any one can download the Action Poker Network client and the BetOnline Poker client and will clearly see it's the same Network unless they have changed this recently.

Thanks for the input guys. At least now I know where not to play. I saw a commercial the other night promoting a different kind of poker website. I think it was on the GSN channel on late night poker. Anyone know anything about that one? Don't remember the name of it.

I know Americas Card Room has been advertising heavily on GSN. Americas Card Room was a Poker Site that was around in the early 2000's. They have reopened and are on the Yatahay Network and have just purchased Dolye's Room. Nothing will change with Doyle's Room, but it seems Americas Card Room is doing some advertising and trying to increase traffic on the Yatahay Network.

Maybe it was Amercas Card Room you saw?

Yeah that sounds familiar. Do you know much about them? Do they have good customer support? Can you make withdrawels without a lot of drama?

I play on True Poker, which is on the same Network. Cashouts are some of the fastest for US players. Paper checks have always arrived for me in under 2 weeks, since Black Friday. True Poker and America's Card Room use the same cashier, so this should apply to either, or you could play at True Poker, either way.

They do offer Live Chat support at True Poker and are decent. The traffic is low, but has increased a little. I will warn though, it's still relatively low compared to other US sites, and extremely low compared to what pokerstars and Full Tilt had previously.

They do offer decent promotions. If signing through an affiliate you can get 27% Rakeback+Deposit Bonus. They also have a points to cash system that adds a small amount of value and they have been running RakeRaces the last few months and have advertised a 60K RakeRace this coming month. Note that this 60K RakeRace is pretty big when factoring in the relatively small size of the Network and even average volume players could easily get a small piece of the Rake Race.

Hope that helps!

That's great news. I may give them a shot. It seems that now you have to just be on several sites to find a tournament during the time you are sitting there. I will sometimes open two sites at once and can normally find a tourney without having to wait too long.
