I was curious to see how everyone's BR has been in 2012. What has been your best month so far and your worst? I know some folks play on different networks and sites and some win more in certain sites as opposed to others, but I'm curious to see how everyone's 2012 has been going so far half way through the year. It'll be interesting to revisit this thread again at the end of the year to see who has added/lost to their BR's as well. :D

I had taken off like a bandit and was looking at averaging over $1k a month profit and even thinking about steps to pro. Then I hired a coach (April) and lost about half my BR in 3 weeks (thousands) - slammed on the brakes - quit playing for about 3 weeks then went back to tourney play (which is how I got my cash stake going in the first place) and am back to about 3/4 of my top BR.

Last month - 9 of 13 final tables - 6 cashes - 2 outright wins.

This all live casino BTW.

6k! IS NUTS. @blitz getting an average over 1k in live play a month is crazyness! Would you say by hiring a coach is what partly caused the drop in BR? I know there are always other factors/variables, but i'd be curious to hear how if any influence the coach had in it.

Ya know I am not too sure. I mean I don't blame him. Kind of like when Tiger Woods changed his swing he went in the toilet for a while while he tried to work it out. I didn't disagree with anything he said I just hated going to him each week and him being totally unprepared. He was more of a counselor than a coach or teacher - "What do you want to talk about today?"

The other factor that is probably much more meaningful was playing at a new location that is frequented by more pros than the other places - several of which are his students that he also stakes.

Also I just don't know that my personality is cut out for cash - as much as I would like to kid myself.

I'm all over the place.

I was -$10k (what's BRM?) Online YTD till a few weeks ago...binked two big tournies...now sitting at -$2K. I swear I'm not that bad..I just have seeeerious tilt and BRM issues lol. Most people lose a or 2 buyins when they tilt...(with 30x BR). I buyin to the highest stake game I can find and tilt lol.

Live, I peaked at +$66K a few weeks ago for the year (mix of $2/5 n 5/10). Then had a week from hell...now sitting at $+58K. . Currently on break to get off tilt before I (hopefully) start another run.

I'm with @ducky on this one...sometimes that tilt gets the best of me. Not so much with the online play (seeing as i'm still N00BING) it up on Carbon, but live I can say i've shot myself in the foot a few times. @blitz I can see how the change of location can be a huge factor. Once you are in spot for awhile you just get that comfort, up and go to a new spot and you can run cold (i've done this a couple of times myself). Good stories so far! Keep em coming!

march is my best month so far this year, up 12 buy-ins. this month has been the worst, i'm down 1/2 buy-in. lately the games have seemed tougher.
hopefully this trend doesn't continue.

Ducky...if there was a book to read or button to press or koolaid to drink that would kill tilt...id be all overit and id drop my job and go full time pro without hesitation. I know when I'm on A game I can make enough to live well

I doubt it exists tho. I've seen everyone from isildur to durrr to a bunch of other top pros tilt off 6 and 7 figures. If there was a magic pill, I recon they'd have it by now. I'm a winning poker player...but a degenerate.

That said if it works for u and helps u w tilt, let me know, ill take a look

I will do when i've fully read it, but i've heard it mentioned all around the poker community and people just saying how amazing it is, and how amazing Jared Tendler was for them when they hired him out as a psychology coach for poker, this coming from some of the top pro's.
