Hi guys, question for pokerstars players.

I'm just wondering what people think the best ways to use fpps and making the most of the VIP programme in regards to them.

I collected around 600 a month ago and basically they went on fpp tournaments and satellites. However, I didn't really have anything to show for them really..The odd little cash here and there, most defintelty not worth what I spent on them. The only other thing to do is use them for cash bonuses which if I would of saved them I'd have over 1000 now so be half way to the $25 reward..

Wonder what peoples thoughts are on these?

Obviously if you're a high stakes players and earning a ton then fpp tournaments aren't a bad thing, as they have 3k fpp buy-ins for 10 mans etc etc and you get what you pay for to a degree with decent prizes and realistic chances of cashing. Besides which, some earn thousands a day It seems like a free roll all these 10/20fpp buy-in tournaments so in comparison to top guns who earn lots compared to a micro player like myself who earns very few, am I just best saving them?

Thanks!

because of my job, I don't get to play a lot of poker, so you can imagine how slow my fpps build up, I try to save them I guess, for me anyways they seem to take forever to build up, when I get enough of them I'll probably try to order some clothing from the vip store.

I use the cash bonuses, but a lot of people don't like those because they have a lower dollar value/fpp then the tournaments, which is true, but I'm not really a tournament player and I don't want to take the time to play tournaments so I just convert them into cash. I'm saving up, gonna try to make platinum this month so it'll be easier to attain the 50k needed to $650. This might take a while...

hehe, hats. Thing is a lot of the stuff I've looked at really doesn't seem to value what you can get in cash. I guess I will save for now as like I said, I pretty much blew over 500 on sats and tournaments with them. Kinda wasted money considering I shouldn't/wouldn't even be playing in the higher buy-in tournaments because of my bankroll, so with the variance the chances of me actually making a worth while cash doesn't warrant the risk! Besides which, I didn't realise you could get an instant cash credit, I'm sure they used to say you had to work through them like a bonus..

On a side note, the only one I think would be worth it is the one your mentioning that turbo take-down (1million) 3k fpp buy-in. This seems a very good prize tournament. Top 1000 getting a min of $100? I imagine the entrants go into the tens of thousands though?

I think it's usually top 3,500 or 4,000 get paid... & works out to around 1in3 getting paid (pretty sure it's 4,000 pd., but I've never played it so am not sure)
