Best use for Full Tilt Ring Game Tickets

I got a $20 Ring Game Ticket with the transfer from Stars promotion around January 2013. Well it is 8 months later and I'm still working to get the 500 FTP needed to release the ticket! I had to play at least 1 raked hand EVERY week just to keep it alive.

$1.00 Rake = 10FTP so 500FTP is $50.00 in rake! All that from a $20 ticket.

Maybe the best way to deal with it is just to get into a game at a stake where we can flip it allin until it is gone.

Any other ideas?

Essentially the point of the RGT (ring game tickets) on full tilt is to keep the money on the system but at the same time allowing you to continuously play on the cash tables with and make money (for you and them, as they gain on the rake) until you are able to release it.

It seems like you are not happy with having been given 20$ that you can play on cash tables with, personally I wouldn't have a problem with someone giving me a free 20$ rgt. Its no different to a degree than a deposit bonus whereby you gain the bonus after making a certain amount of ftp's, difference being that you are essentially able to play with the pending bonus $$ to earn those ftp's.

So grind it out and make some money from it, personally I had a couple of times in the past purchased rgt's using ftp after having gone broke and i'll be honest i had never released the bonus in the rgt to be able to withdraw it or play it on anything besides cash, but I did however make about 12$ from using a 5$ rgt before hitting a couple of bad streaks to lose the 5$ in the ticket but still up the 12 essentially (so can see how can make money from it even if you hit a swing that eventually causes to lose the ticket and not release it.

rgt's are just like cash for anyone who regs cash tables, just you have to earn it before you can cash it out. Wish I had a couple of 20$ rgt's on ftp .

I'm not unhappy that they gave me the ticket. But I would not buy such tickets because they are too hard to release.

I was trying to imagine an easy way to get the value without having to grind it out. RGT are like a mini bankroll and to manage a $20 bankroll you must play at 0.01/0.02 or your risk of ruin gets too high.

I had fun grinding it though. I used it to clear part of a bonus and enter a couple of promotions requiring minimum amount of play (FTPs). Since the ticket was free I did not risk much.

But I would not buy such a ticket and If I get a another free one, I'll just flip it right there.

BTW generating $50 of rake with a $20 ticket is not an easy task. And you can't multi table using funds from the same ticket; so it takes more time to complete the challenge.

ic, didn't realize you couldn't run multiple tables from the same ticket, hadn't tried it when I had the 5$ one I had and was just grinding it on rush. I see what you mean with regards to the rake amount required to release the ticket, but at least if you wanted it could be a good opportunity to grind out a small profit from the ticket, and then perhaps use the ticket to take a shot at a higher bi cash table and see what you can do.

As you mentioned, it was free so its not a risk of your own money to take a shot with the ticket, especially since as you mention you can't use it to multitable (that would be gross), and would take forever to grind it on a single table following brm of 1c/2c. These days playing only a single table drives me a little and i sometimes find myself getting cought up in tv and end up sitting out at the table.

I would not mind grinding with the ticket as I am not used to cash games, I play too many tournament games and I have only studied for them.

So if I had a risk free chance of making some dosh that would be cool for me. I have now gained $28 just playing freerolls and I would not like to risk that playing freerolls as I know I would probably blow it all
