USA Player looking to start playing again

I was a regular player years ago and I am now looking to get back into the game

I would consider myself a profitable intermediate level player.

What are the best sites to play at these days? Would be starting off at low stakes and would prefer a busy room that will have games or tourneys whenever I feel like hoping on and playing.

Ideally an iphone App would be nice but not necessary.

bovada - high rated, but no freerolls

betonline - a LOT of freerolls, relatively easy to get paid, especially in larger $50-$300 freerolls that pay out to 40 spots and what i saw at penny tables was some really soft competition BUT, BO has a terrible reputation here including one member who turned $25 freeroll winnings into $600 that BO refused to payout. if they were legit, i'd still play there but see no point if they're going to hijack any and all winnings.

america's cardroom - has probably the best reputation here as being legit, BUT the site itself only offers $10 freerolls that are a pain and a half to get paid in as the only pay 10 spots starting at 55 cents for 10th vs an average field of about 400 or more players. all of the other larger freerolls require passwords, some which seem almost impossible to get, but jackpot freerolls are very easy to get passwords to (ACR = winning poker network) and if you make at least 50 or 60 posts here, after a month, you can get passwords for CC freerolls there too.

so far, no one is adding any other USA playable sites to my US friendly freerolls thread. i can tell you that it's a waste of time to sign up for 888 & tiger poker despite their popularity here. the no hablo americano

that's not true at all. there are probably MILLIONS of US players. before the casino industry destroyed US poker, there were dozens of poker sites up, and there would be 10s of THOUSANDs of players on pokerstars at any given time between hundreds of play money rooms, tournaments and freerolls and cash tables too.

if online poker were re-legalized in the US, there would be tons of US players back online.

in the last SMALL town i lived in, there were THREE card houses going with people playing $20 or more sit and goes. one had well over 50 people going at it when i popped in and the smaller one i played at a few times until i noticed the cards were marked had between 20 and 40 players on a given day.

poker is VERY popular. that's why there are so many cable shows on it, and there used to be a poker after dark show on network TV too.

US players aren't playing as much now because i'm sure a lot of them don't even know there are still places you can play. i know you can't play at 888 and tiger after wasting my time there. that would discourage people trying to play after 2-3 sites all refuse to let them play.

i seem to remember poker stars having hundreds of thousands of members back in the day. it used to be a huge site

just here in town, the rec center had a poker tournament, for fun only, and we had about 20 players. that was just by word of mouth among probably no more than a couple hundred people. i won BTW and got a trophy and a teeshirt. sadly, i guess the management there never really liked the idea and it's unlikely to happen again even though it was linked to a canned goods drive. it was a lot of fun, except for the part where an early KOed drunk player decided to play freakin' AC/DC on his phone i wanted to stomp so freakin' bad.

Top 3 Online Poker Sites to Play in the US

What's everyone's top 3 online poker sites to play in the US. I play BCP and ACR currently. I'm looking for at least one more good one. Just curious what other sites are good and reliable out there.

There is not a whole lot out there. Have Carbon, Full Flush and BetOnline. Some are restricted in certain states. The two you mentioned seem to have far less complaints as far as withdraws.

Bovada has been a fun change for me. I live the mobile client and it's very soft it seems. I doubled up pretty fast off my initial $25 deposit for what I'm used to. Hand histories are sort of a pain though. If I have time to sit down however I prefer ACR. Play seems tougher but I like playing 2nl just fine for now.

Americas Cardroom is the best out there, better GTDs, most trusted US site, great traffic, awesome promotions, bitcoin cashouts, Mac compatible software, jackpots, we offer rakeraces, you get can 27% rakeback... So you name it!

Same here, BlackChip, played some on ACR and been looking for a third site, used to play full flush but can't get it to run on my laptop. I heard WPT.com has some good freerolls that you can play to work your way up to real money.

ACR is trashhhh I been getting sucked out on that site since the day I made my first deposit I get raped by the program. Ironically literally the same 15-20 players win the bigger tournaments every single weekend. Bovado is the best I just wish they accepted players from New York :(

i would put ACR best if ACR modify for better fonts...
the fonts are very small for multi-tabling player.
carbon and bovada is better...not to say poker stars.:D

I prefer acr atm, not a ton of good options. Bet online games are softer and probably more numerous but can't cash out freerolls. I didn't think WPT accepted US unless you're in one of the 3 states? Was looking forward to carbon but think they just stopped accepting us players.

Legit Poker Sites for USA/California

I currently play on America's Cardroom but wanted to maybe try Carbon for different/more variation. However, I read on one site that Carbon no longer accepts new US players but existing accounts are still OK. Does anyone know anything about this or have another site that they recommend? Looking for low stakes MTT's and obviously good action. :)

Check out Bovada as well. Havent heard much about the Carbon issue bc I haven't been on there in awhile. Would Say ACR and bovada are your best options right now as an American.

Sportsbetting or betonline is not a bad choice if you like them.

I would add juicy stakes/intertops and Carbon to this list, Carbon doesn't pay as fast but always has and pays and right now may have the softest games. I can not recommend WPN for cash games, they make you want to bang your head against a wall have 400nl players playing clear down to 25nl and your lucky to find one fish a table.
