Just wondering what sites you guys/gals would suggest for a US player? I can see not Carbon. Always played on partypoker before the ban but have been scared to play because of cashout problems. The Spade Club debacle is not working for me. Nearest casino to me is 1 hour away and only 2 or 3 tables so run into same crowd too much. Need a good site for the winter while not working, thanks.

Join Ultimate Bet. In my opinion it's the best.

Ultimatebet.com

Good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. you can also join Absolutepoker.com

Absolute poker, and Ultimate Bet are shared sites. So basically it's the same site just on a different server. We share all the freerolls. So it's players on both Absolute, and UB, but whatever site you're on that's what your screen will show. The player right beside you could be an absolute player, but just because you view him as Ultimate Bet doesn't mean anything at all. He or she is viewing you as being on Absolute because that's what his or her screen shows ( it's trickery ).

So, there you are. Absolute or Ultimate Bet. ( shared sites, or sister sites ).

Peace.

Don't know enough to tell you about poker sites as I have only played at Full Tilt. As for playing at a casino, that would be fun to actually play with live people to watch their faces and expressions. Looking forward to doing that one of these days when I get MUCH better.

This is another pretty common question, so if you click "Search" and put in US Players you can see a whole bunch of answers that the question has gotten in the past.

Right now I play mostly on bodog and occasionally at Full Tilt and poker stars. Poker Stars and Full Tilt are almost TOO damn big, though. And, IMO, bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. I keep them for private games with my buddies on PS and I like the SNGs and KO tourneys at FT.

The only time I play UB is for CC freerolls, and if not for those I would probably for sure get rid of Ultimate Bet. That site seems like a bunch of chimpanzees threw it together. (FWIW, I used to play Absolute Poker occasionally, but not after the cheating scandal. I think you would have to be high to deposit your money with UB or AP after that.)

Carbon I haven't decided about yet, though I could do without all of the geeky graphics--save that crap for the kiddies. I'm gonna keep it around, though I'm reluctant to send them any money. Maybe I can put together a little BR through the CC FR and play it a little more so I can make up my mind.

I liked the old setup of Doyle's Room, and now that it's on Cake I'm going to ditch one of those two along with PO, but I still haven't decided which. I really don't see the need to keep them both since they use the same skin. I've already decided to get rid of Players Only (also on the Cake skin).

That's my .02. Check out that search function to get some more input!

I play on Bodog. The players to donkey ratio seems to be better than most.

Thanks for all the great info! I am also scared of UB and AP after watching the 60 minutes show about the sites. Hope to see some of you on the felt soon.

The online gaming act of 2006 was attached to a port security bill by the Republicans. It does not make it illegal to play but makes it illegal for US financial institution to make transactions with gaming sites, other than fantasy sports and horse betting who have lobbiest. There are bills being introduced to change it.

I'm curious why you say not Carbon? When I did some digging, Carbon was rated the #1 most fish US allowed site, with Bodog #2

Fulltilt and Poker stars have quite a many good cheap games, and private tournies. Good cash deposits, and rakebacks are both very apealing. I wouldn't trust absolute or ultimatebet for actual deposits, but some ok freeroll action. Have tried the other rooms cash games enough to say an opinion on those. There are some really good rooms out there that charge a monthly fee, and have lots of private cash tournaments for lots of money.

You'll see me on the felt. I'll be @ UB.

I'm not scared of the so-called cheaters.

ICU doesn't have to cheat to win.

I'm a proud member of UB, and that's where I roll.

If you want to find me I'll be at UB.

ICU is OUT.

Peace.

I think Fulltilt and Pokerstars both "appear" the most legit. They are the two you see advertised the most on TV during poker shows. I also play on Cake (Players Only, BetUS, Doyle's Room, etc.) and Merge (Carbon, PDC, Reefer, etc.). I don't like Microgaming sites that much but they do offer some interesting freerolls like the Friday night Triple Ripple (3 games at the same time - Omaha, Stud, and NLHE). I'm not a big fan of Ultimate Bet (I think partly because Phil H. is a spokesperson for the site and I have to see his face every time I start the site). But I don't play that much there to make a fair assesment.

I think a bit part is what are you looking for in a site? What is most important to you? All the different sites have their plusses and minuses. Someone may be looking for freerolls, another may be looking for low stakes MTT, while others may be looking for the high stakes tourneys. Also, one person likes about one site, another may find annoying. Try the different sites playing in freerolls before depositing to make sure you are comfortable with that site.
