I saw a tv show and they interviewed a whole bunch of poker players and asked them so I thought id do the same thing here. This could be your best hand odds wise, your best bluff, a tournament winning hand, anything you can remember.

This hand helped me take home a nice 3rd place finish and $240 in a live tournament.

The blinds were 45 min per level so I was playing really tight and doing well since everyone else was playing like donks. I notice I was not getting action because of table image so I needed to see more hands.

I get 92 on the button and decided to limp since 4 others had before me. I was just thinking it will be easy to let go and I had chips to gamble. Flop comes 992 with flush draw. Flush comes on turn and the only person at the table with more chips goes all-in. Doubled up off him and coasted after that.

The best hand eh? hmmmmmm..... I dont have a best hand, but my best hands were when I had a real cocky loser at my table at a local tourny. All before the tourny he was talking all this bull about how he was a top notch player online at paradise poker and how hes won so much money. During the game he was really aggressive and betting big. After awhile of this I had figured out he overbetted all his bluffs, so I decide to reraise him 2/3 of the time and stole most of his stack after he folded his hands to me. In the end he pushed with AA with 1/4 of his stack left and I called with 10 10 and sucked out to bust him. He was so pissed off. lol.

I would have to say that my hands are similar to JeeDubs. My buddy from work invited me over for a home game the other night. He knew I played online so he wanted to play for $100. I quickly got a read on him and realized the he overbet his bluffs, and way underbet his strong hands (ex: K2 bluff=$20 bet, A high flush=$3 bet). So I waited until I had at least a marginal hand and I called each of his bluffs. We played for about an hour, and I kept pissing him off. He couldn't figure out why I was calling all of his bluffs, but not his strong hands. Finally, I flopped trips (2 on board) and he went all in. I called, and walked out $100 richer. He wants to play again tonight so he can earn his money back. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

Best hand I've ever played happened about 2 months ago in our weekly home game.. We were 3 handed with me being the short stack at the table.. I'm in the SB, blinds are I believe 200-400 at the time.. My buddy limps in on the button and I look down at 3-5 off suit.. I know my dad(who's in the BB) is a poor player preflop so pretty much knowing I won't face a raise from him I decided to call the extra 200 and see a flop.. Well the flop is gin for me 3-5-3.. I about pooped on myself but i calmly rapped the table to check.. My dad bets 400, my buddy calls, and I go ahead and smooth call.. There are two hearts on the board so I'm hoping to represent a flush draw by just calling here.. Turn was a 8 of Diamonds.. I check once again and my dad bets out another 400(let's forget about the fact that he's only betting the minimum giving me fantastic odds to draw to a flush which is what i'm representing).. My buddy folds and it's back to me.. I decide to go ahead and just call once again because i'm positive that if he had a high pocket pair or the board helped him he'd be betting more.. River is a 10 of clubs.. Now this is the great part of the story, I did something next that would never work against a pro or any regular guy in a casino for that matter.. I let out a audible sigh(indicating that i missed my flush).. I \thought about just betting right out here but I decided to risk another check here so I could check-raise him.. He bets out another 400(retarded bets I know)... So I pause and then minimum raise him another 400 leaving me with one black 1000 dollar chip.. He immediately says I put you all in, I say call, flip my hand, and announce the full boat.. He mucks his cards right away and my buddy laughs and says "didn't see that one coming".. I know there were plenty of ways to play this hand, mine being very very dangerously, but it was a case of knowing who you are playing against that allowed me to get the absolute most amount of chips I could on the hand..

I have never forgot this hand even though I shouldn't have been in it.
Way back when I was a new online player.. someone made a pre flop raise

I called with Q,7 suited.. flop came 777... lets just say I busted pocket AA's with that hand.. yet now heck I wouldn't even dream about calling with such a hand

Another one of those if I new then what I know now hands. Chasing a flush draw caught it on river. The first guy, with the k high flush couldn't believe that the second guy had an A high flush & neither even noticed the possibility that I could & did have a straight flush. It's one of the things we forget about playing with donks, it's fun hitting those big hands when you don't know any better.

This was a good hand. Beginners' table and I was small blind. Pretty much everyone called so how could I not, with my 10-7 suited? Figured I must be getting good implicit odds in case I flopped a monster.

The flop gave me top two pair and I was first to act, with 6 other people to go after me. Pretty sure I had everyone beat, as it was highly unlikely anyone was holding exactly the remaining two tens or sevens, and I'd take my chances that no-one had pocket fives. And I was certainly not going to let anyone outdraw me, with there being a flush draw on. So with $1.50 in the pot (don't laugh - it's beginners...) I put in a huge over-bet of $5, which I thought would represent A-10. Was called by BB who had an overpair (jacks) and someone else with an A-K flush draw.

The turn brought a middle card that could have made a straight but I doubted a call with such a draw, so I put the callers all-in with another $5 bet. Both called. The river was another 10, which gave JJ a better 2 pair than I had before, but now I had a full house.

Thought it was an interesting hand because the AK suited had pot odds to call in both flop and turn, and so did JJ on the turn because he now also had a straight draw. Although by betting big I reduced their implicit odds because they couldn't raise if they made their hand on the turn or river.

Nice feeling when you bust out 2 players at once and triple up! :):)

Any comments? Thinking about this hand I was wondering if it's a good idea to give people pot odds to call by not betting too high, when you are favourite to win?

My very first live MTT was in vegas while we were on vacation.

I was dealt AA UTG and raised, 3 folds, next guy went all in, another fold, next guy went all in, folded around to me and I went all in.

AA vs KK vs 66 and my aces held up.

The best part of it all?

I was sitting next to Johnny Chan ( he was on my immediate right )

Actually played one hand against him. I had something like AQ when the flop came J - something - something and he bet. I sat there for a long time before folding. He turned to me and said "you had 2 overs didn't you, good lay down" and showed me the 2 pair he had hit.

At the time I honestly thought he had seen my cards, I mean how else could he had known almost exactly what I had? Now I know different. Based on my betting etc it was probably really obvious what I had.

He was a nice person, but dang was it intimidating.

Opposite Hand

Well here's my worst hand ever...since I can't remember any really good ones :( . I went to the local indian casiono and played the 3/6 limit game for a while. I had seen probably just 3 flops in an hour with jack sh*t hands and finally got a worthwhile hand with KK. I raised preflop a couple places short of the button and I got three calls. The flop came out 999 and we checked around. I throught I was in great shape with a full house off the flop and waited for someone to make a pair. The turn was a 5 and a guy bet the 6, I raised, and he reraised which meant my last $2 were going in...and they did. What hand did he play against my Kings? You guessed it, 9 7 offsuit and floped quads...basically it shows you a limit table pre flop raise won't do you any good. It sure pissed me off though and I went home with none of my $60, a first for me at the casino.

Ah ha. This brings back a great memory. Thanks. This hand might not look like much at first glance. Look at how many chips I have. Yep, this was the end of the $3500 guaranteed rebuy. I did not rebuy, but added on at the break. So it cost me $21 total and I won over $1050.

Dead Man's Hand

My favorite hand is A,8 and here's why:
(if you dont feel like reading it, it's just cuz some guy along time ago was killed while holding this hand).

Murder of Wild Bill Hickok By Steve Goldman
NCSA Member #9
As most Wild West buffs are aware, James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok was killed by Jack Mc Call in Deadwood, Dakota Territory, on August 2, 1876. Hickock was shot in the back of the head while playing poker and holding Aces and eights (two pairs) ever since known as the "dead man's hand."
The first newspaper report of Hickok's death was published in Deadwood's only newspaper, the Black Hills Pioneer, on August 5, 1876. The headlines read:
ASSASSINATION OF WILD BILL HE WAS SHOT THROUGH THE HEAD
BY JOHN MC CALL
WHILE UNAWARE OF DANGER
ARREST, TRIAL, & DISCHARGE
OF THE ASSASSIN
WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE AVENGED
A BROTHER'S DEATH
IN KILLING WILD BILL
The text read: "On Wednesday about 3 o'clock the report stated that J.B. Hickok (Wild Bill) was killed. On repairing to the hall of Nuttall and Mann, it was ascertained that the report was too true. We found the remains of Wild Bill lying on the floor. The murderer, Jack Mc Call, was captured after a lively chase by many of the citizens, and taken to a building at the lower end of the city, and a guard placed over him. As soon as this was accomplished, a coroner's jury was summoned, with C.H. Sheldon as foreman, who after hearing all the evidence, which was the effect that, while Wild Bill and others were at a table playing cards, Jack Mc Call walked in and around directly back of his victim, and when within three feet of him raised his revolver, and exclaiming, "damn you, take that," fired; the ball entering at the back of the head, and coming out at the centre of the right check causing instant death, reached a verdict in accordance with the above facts "

Best hand I ever played was back in the day when 4 fingers cost you $20.(Now how many of you know what that means?).
Me and a bunch of my friends where on a camping trip with 12 cases of beer, 1/2 gallon of JD, Stoli, Bacardi, and 4 or 5 bottles of Sangria. Not to mention a few of the above mentioned fingers, a couple of mini bricks and some schrooms.
After a day and a half we had to make a road trip for more beer. When we got back we decided to play 3 card guts. I had just partaken of the delightful fungus and was mellowing out. After playing for about an hour i was in one pot with just me and my friend Jerry left. The pot got up to about $390 and I was enjoying the trails from the cards being dealt, when I got dealt an Ace high straight. He was dealt a flush. Sweetest win I have ever had. And I was even nice enough to take a check from him to cover the pot.
