Basically this is an inquiry to people who play or grind on BCP and/or Carbon. Just wondering if there are any special daily or weekly tournies they have that are good value down in the micros (ie. 1-5$, really only rolled on BCP for 1$ and not even that on Carbon).

As it stands right now don't play BCP at all other than cc freerolls but thanks to my recent freeroll bink (120$ish) got a decent br on there so figure might start playing a few tournies within BRM on there, last bcp weekly game bink i just took a couple of shots and got UL.

On carbon similar don't play there except the freeroll, and usually if I cash in the freeroll I play the cc buyin. Doing just that I got 2nd in both last week so have an ok br there about 60$, and plan is to play the weekly buyins mainly but wouldn't mind picking around in some other games to try and build the br.

I will probably size up both sites this evening myself but figured there are likely some people on here who grind at the sites so suggestions etc are much appreciated.

Thanks all.

guess everyone plays on bovada lol

Had a look myself last night, micro selection kinda sucks really....

BCP got a 200gtd for 2$ and a 300gtd for 3$ each with 2hr late reg but just from what I saw last night seem to run at kinda odd late times, but meh could be just the way it was showing up.....their stt's seem to get no traffic at lower games either and looks like i just missed their series events at the micros which have better gtd $$.

Carbon is similar, although they seem to have more with 150gtd, 200gtd, 250gtd, 400gtds most in a 2$ tourny range also i do believe with 2 hour late reg.

Thats what I saw from a quick look last night when i popped in to see if anything to play, and essentially wasn't anything I could play at that time but might have another peek this evening perhaps.

I mostly just play private freerolls and SNG's on Carbon. I cannot stand their late entry/re-entry tournaments (which is most of them).....they have late entry for 2 plus hours on some of them. Their micro selection, like you stated, is lackluster.

I think Bovada has a nice tournament selection - some with late entry, some not. Most of their "bigger" tourneys and bigger GTD's have later entries...I get that....they don't want the overlay.

If you really want some micro donk fests....check out full flush.

I haven't found any on carbon, the late register is getting ridiculous, but some find it ok, I guess its just according to how many hours you are willing to send in those kind of tourneys.

Yeah its not even the late register that drives me, kinda used to that its pretty much everwhere for gtd tournies, and with the exception of stars even ftp has 2hr late reg on regular speed gtd tournies.

It's actually the reentry that I hate about carbon and bcp tournies that I am seeing, it essentially makes them all rebuy tournaments and I'm not a fan of the rebuy tournament at least not unlimited and when its unlimited reentry although different its pretty much a rebuy.

Probably I'll just play some cash games on there and see what the fields are like at the micro's, although given news I saw today with poker host leaving merge it doesn't give a good feeling about the future of the merge network what with carbon recently locking out certain states and stuff like that.

Re the # of hours i looked at a completed 200gtd on bcp and it ran for almost 6 hours....don't think it was turbo but really 6 hours for like 118 people i think is what it ended up with overall. I think a 2hr late reg for this kind of game is just yuck, 1 hour late and you got about a 4 - 4.5hr tournament which would be much better than 6+ when your talking only 25x your buyin up top :puke:

Agree with your assessment regarding lack of micro tourneys at Carbon. Also hate the r/a.

Why not grind the SNG's? They're fairly easy to $.

Elsewhere, there are good value tourneys at Full Flush. Have you played there? There is a nightly $1500 GTD for $5.50 BI that is great value. And the tables at FF are soft. Soft. Soft.

Also, juicy stakes offers freerolls and low BI tourneys throughout the day. Easy money there too.

I don't find the sng's on carbon or bcp have much traffic when I'm on there, and basically was just hoping they might have some decent mtt's to play.

Have played at ff a little, but not really got a br there. Had a bit of one from a stt i won and just got playing around in some casino games did well and then cash did well and then cash that didn't go so well and casino games that didn't go so well and haven't been on since that like a month ago, not even sure what the br is atm but imagine its small lol. The $$ freerolls on juicy/intertops always seem to be full when I'm able to get on after work and register so not got anything on there, and only attempt it now and again.

I'll probably just look to pull my money of bcp, and play just the cc games on carbon and withdraw some when it gets to a certain point.

I think full flush will be a great spot, they do however need some improvements on the software side.

Carbon has cut back on the late registration, it was 3:45 for all deepstacks, now it's a manageable 2:20 for the regular weekly schedule and 3:00 for the bigger weekend guarantees.

All times eastern
pm - daily, there's 7:00 $5 2k gtd along with the $1-2 at 6:00. On the weekend the early birds at 1:00 have increased guarantees. Sunday, the only non-turbo dollar rebuy left is at 12:00 - $500 gtd, and the $2 1500 gtd at 3:00.

Not much of a schedule on Blackchip, unless playing midstakes in the evening. There's the daily $5 1k gtd at 3:00 and $5 3500 gtd Sundays, 8:00. For $3-5 can sat. into the now $30 daily 12.5k gtd at 6:00 - has to be played the same day.

I'm glad that D'w was able to help you, Dave.

Yeah, that 930pm Juicy ticketroll fills early, but you could register for it early in the morning before you leave for work. It is the only one that opens for registration early.

Good luck.

Yeah i managed to register in one of the 500$ freerolls over the weekend, however spent the weekend in a lot of pain with my back and about an hour before it began some drugs finally kicked in helping with the pain so decided to say the hec with it and laid down and had a nap as hadn't gotton any sleep the night before, I ended up getting knocked out in 181 when i checked and it paid 180 spots lol.

I dont play at carbon or bcp,im used to 2-3hours of late reg but reentry is where I draw the line,I stick with bovada which has less reentry mtts.

another great valie is the lower bi and higher gtds compared to carbon and bcp.

the early bird 1.10 & 2.20 tourneys are good

the early bird 1.10 & 2.20 tourneys start @ 10:00 server time. theyre deepstacks and usually play fairly easy.

Just click on 'Tournaments' 'Regular' 'Texas Hold'em' 'No Limit'

The 'Early Bird' & the 'Nightly' tourneys are decent.

The 'Nightly$11' has a $5k gtd. & the 'Nightly $5.50' has a $2k gtd.

There's also the 'Sunday Bigs':
Big$2 $1.5k gtd.
Big$11 $10k gtd.

These are the only ones I ever play on Carbon.

Not sure what they have these days on BCP/ACR
They used to have a $5 $2,500 gtd. on wed. night
And another $5 buyin $3,500 gtd. on Sundays.

I think probably the best tourney on there is the one 21:00(ET) $25 buyin, $10k gtd. (personally BRM goes out the window for me when it's for site's that I don't play very much on... especially if I've won the $'s from a priv. freeroll or priv. buyin).

Just checked the BCP lobby
I guess that nightly $25 buyin at 9pm(ET) is now a $12,500 gtd. (that's a decent tourney imo).

In the early evening they have their 'Big10' tourneys...
6pm (ET) $5 buyin $1,000 gtd.
7pm (ET) $10 buyin $2,500 gtd.

Also, I think re-entry tourneys play out quite alot differently than your typical r/a tourney. In a typical rebuy you've usually got a 1500chip starting stack & if you're not entering it with plans for rebuying & adding on (& know how to play early stages of a rebuy) then it is a bad idea to enter it.
However a 're-entry' you have a good starting stack (like anyother deepstack tourney) & play accordingly (like anyother deepstack freezeout).
If other players want to choose to play a bit looser & want to pay another entry (while only getting a smaller stack vs. the size of the blinds) then so be it! (I can't see how this isn't a good thing for us?).

I have had good luck jumping in with 2 or 3 levels left in late registration. It makes for a much shorter tourney and lets a lot get weeded out.
