What does everyone think about the new free rolls tourney (Badugi) on pokerstars? Personally I love it. I am huge razz guy myself. Can't wait to see what kind of real money table and tourneys there are going to be.

I've been playing it at testpokerstars. Been playing both limit and no-limit cash. Some time the games are good other times it a play money FFA.

I will need to check out to tourney's on the regular site.

I doubt it will ever become a WSOP event, but who knows. I think it might actually have a good chance of catching on. I think PokerStars is on the right track in trying to find out how popular it will become. The only site I know of that has it is Carbon, and while not as wildly popular as holdem, seems to have a loyal following. I've only been there maybe 8 - 10 months, but the competition in there is getting better. PS has a much bigger audience, so we'll see. I think Badugi has a great appeal. First off, it's not an idiot game like razz, although there is the low theme. In fact, I think it mirrors holdem in a lot of ways. The rules are actually quite simple, but.... and I'm no pro, but can tell you the drawing and betting strategies are trickier than initially meets the eye. Not to mention possible bluffs, which are tougher in a drawing game where eveyone can see your cards.

OK, I gotta say the first time I played badugi I BOMBED but once I got the hang of it I kinda liked it lol... (I like razz too but still str8 HE is my fav but that is one reason I play HORSE so that I can mix it up a bit and have some fun on occasion).

I doubt it will be a WSOP event... but it does hold some promise and I think I might like to get a bit better at it. I didn't even realize they had it at PS... i can't remember where I played it (some site I no longer play at I think) but it was always freerolls so there were donks galore and not quite representative of how the game COULD be. I might have to check it out at PS if they have any PM or low-stakes tables (don't wanna lose my wad on a game I don't really know LOL).

Can you tell me why you think Razz is a idiot game? I not trying to pick a fight But its the first time I have seen someone bash the game.

Does anyone know when razz started and when it became a event?

I would defiantly say more and more people are starting to like the game at PS. Would there ever be a Cards Chat tourney in the future?

this game is real frustrating to play. each time you draw the headache that mounts from cards matching suite's will drive you crazy. its much more challenging than razz to play and if you have patience i say go for it.

I just played a freeroll and got destroyed:D
It was my first time and I had just read the rules and understood them, but wasn't used to the hand strengths. Twice I hit a 10 hi 4 card hand on 1st draw and though it looked pretty good cause my opponents were still drawing. It does seem like a fun game so hopefully I'll get the hang of it.
