Well, it's a little hard to help you based on just this post. We'd really need specific examples of how you play to do you any good.

As for players playing bad hands and winning, well, they do win some pots here and there, but I promise you someone who plays bad hands on a regular basis will lose money on a regular basis.

Welcome to cardschat Boice. Check out the articles and the hand analysis forums (maybe post some of your own?). There's tons of info and feedback here, just look around.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

Playing for years means nothing if you play 5k hands a year: variance is our firend since it keeps bad players in that think they're good but it means we lose when we get it in as a favourite.

I'd suggest the most essential reading there is: Theory of Poker. It's not an easy or fun read, but it'll be eye opening. It will also help you pluf the leaks I'm sure you have (we all do).

Besides the ton of helpful infrmation on this site...there are also other things you can do to change to a winning game

I have found several losing players do better by:

  • Changing Sites if you playing on the Big 3 (PS FT Party). Some people just do better in a smaller community
  • BUY Poker Office or Poker Tracker
  • Join PokerSchoolOnline or Real Poker Training (or similar site)
  • Think about Joining a Staking Site (NeverBeg) where many players are also trying to turn into winning players and some with little or no BR...
Just my thoughts--Good Luck

You said in your first post that you're playing bad hands. Maybe you could start by not doing that?
