I have a bad habit, I can't seem to be able to finish strong in tourneys, I always end up blowing up. I think this has to do with patience, I seem to start losing interest after awhile just dropping hand after hand pushing with nothing. I need self control during these times and can't seem to pull it together. would love some suggestions on what you guys do to stay on an even playing field during these long grinds.:(

patience is important yeah, so is playing longer games like avoiding turbos - when it becomes push or fold its a gamble and different skills are required to be good at late stage.

when its 10 minute blinda or 15 minute. You have to see alot of flops and stacks are deeper so you can use your edge to carryon accumalating chips and waiting for better spots - rather than be forced into taking an average spot.

ALso maintaining your stack - think of it like treading water, stealing 1 or 2 blinds per orbit to keep yourself a float and wait for a good spot to double up or get payed off.

Then you can re-ajust your strategy and try and capitalise on the extra Chips

I have the same problem from time to time. Maybe if you start gearing your range to the blind levels and the players at the table it will help you be able to finish strong. Do you tend to play too many hands or maybe too few? Are you defending your blinds relentlessly? Are you making note of the maniacs, call stations, and ringers? All these things and more are what need to be addressed if you really want to finish deep. Also patience is a virtue and discipline must be cranked up to 11 out of 10 at all times. If you cant kep focused during MTT maybe SNG will be better. They don't require a excessively large time investment. Good luck bud hope this helps.

My problem is that i fear the blind level, when it comes to a five minuete blind level i always want to win big stacks and playing risky hands like aq all in. I dont know what can i do against the horrible fast blind level. Perhaps this freerolls are more luck than skill.
