Your going to have to be more specific...like which BB Jackpot? But usually it pays quite a bit out, and to the whole table with the loser of the bad beat getting around 50% of the jackpot. Usually you have to have medium sized quads beat by higher quads at the very least to qualify, and it is for cash games only in most cases I've seen.

A lot of places it is quad 8s beaten by a better hand. It has to be at a specific badbeat jackpot table as well. And you also have to use both hold cards.

Wrong, the majority of online poker rooms with them it is mid-quads being beaten like soncheebs said. Although in the past quite a few big rooms went as low as Aces full of Kings being beaten would qualify.

For Carbon, I have read about this promotion a many many times. Will continue to read about this promotion and hopefully catch my first.
There are rules set forth and the proofs needed so it is best to read the terms on each individual site.

Here is Carbons link for Bad Beat and how to claim:
http://www.carbonpoker.ag/features/bad-beat-jackpot.html

Bad Beat Jackpot requirements:
  • The losing hand must be at least a Four of a Kind 7's
  • The winning hand must be at least a Four of a Kind 8's
  • Both the winning and losing hands must include both hole cards.
  • At least four players must be dealt in at the start of the hand
  • The hand must have generated jackpot rake (ie. $0.50)
  • Two or more players must be active at the end of the hand, and it must go to showdown.
  • CarbonPoker does not tolerate collusion. All players must act independently and not reveal their hands to other players, nor tell them how to act. Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in automatic disqualification from the Bad Beat Jackpot.
  • Players sitting out at the Bad Beat Jackpot tables are not eligible for the Bad Beat Jackpot.
  • Should two qualifying jackpot hands hit at precisely the same time, the jackpot will be awarded to the hand that began first according to CarbonPoker's server time. The second of the qualifying bad beat hands would be eligible for the reseeded Bad Beat Jackpot.
  • If there are two or more hands that qualify for the jackpot within one hand, then the two highest hands will be considered for the jackpot, with the highest hand being the winning hand and the second highest hand winning the bad beat.
I am glad to see this post as there is a new updated information paragraph on Bad Beat Jackpots for Carbon. Be sure to read.
