Hey all! Been away from online poker for a very long time and am hoping to get back into it. Started my career after graduating from college and have not had a ton of time for hobbies. I used to play on Full Tilt and bodog primarily. I was hoping for some input from people on a good place to play (live in the USA).

Have been reading a lot of posts about Bovada, but was hoping to hear a little more.

Thanks all! :D

EDIT: Should have mentioned I love MTT's and will likely play a good amount of micro limit ring games too.

Thanks pfb. As I was doing some research on here it seems that Bovada has no rakeback, and America's Card Room does. Although no one seems to speak very highly of ACR.

I guess this is going to need a pro/con list. Ha ha.

All of this would be easy if the US Gov. didn't have their heads stuck up their... well you know.

I just started back after 6 years and have done very well at bovada. You cant use a tracker there which is a plus and minus and can only run 4 tables. They have the quickest payouts and good obtainable bonuses and promotions.

I just hate that there is no rakeback. Once I got a taste for rakeback on FTP I just cringe to think I would never see it again.

Oh well. I would think that 4 tables would be enough for me for the time being. I know when I was playing frequently I would 8-10 table, but I certainly didn't do it cost effectively.

Any reason that me having had a Bodog account would complicate signing up for Bovada?

Thanks for all the responses guys. Guess I will go ahead and take the plunge this week. Never did any research when I first started...what being an adult has done to me.

Appears that Bovada still had my email saved from when I played on Bodog. Hopefully this doesn't mean no match on deposit... Guess it is time to test their customer service.

Decided to get into a freeroll on Carbon and made the money the first time out. Not sure why I waste my time with freeroll since I have a real job now, but still fun to cash. Maybe I will make $1.50 an hour and win :)

I came back to poker about 9 months ago, bovada is a decent site but is much more for the recreational player. I don't mean because its super soft although it kind of is, but that those looking for a substantial edge especially in cash play will find it extremely difficult considering you can't multitable past 4 and can't use any poker tracking software. My advice, only play there if you plan on just playing every now and then for fun. If you are looking to get back in the game more seriously, ACR or BCP will be your best option. I play at BCP and the support is great, and so are cashouts, but more importantly if you are a cash /rakeback player you can get decent rakeback (27% minimum) and play more than 4 tables.

So basically you need to decide if your going to be just playing casually and more so in tournies (bovada) or if you want to grind there's no better place than the Winning Network (BCP/ACR/TRUE)

Thanks cheebs! Really good write-up. Since I will likely only be playing occasionally I should get into Bovada. I wish I had time to really grind, but work is a killer...

Now I need to get an answer about my deposit bonus.
