Hi everybody, hope you are all well.
Does anybody have news about this disatrous Aurora engine of pokerstars? I have a normal computer operating with Windows10 and 64-bit systems software, but Aurora kills all fun playing poker. It breaks down by just doing any side action like checking the previous hand or similar things  I have contacted PokerStars and asked for response - no reaction so far.
Does anybody know more about it?

I have no technical issues. However the graphics look dreadful. The entire screen looks faded and all elements are squared off (players boxes etc.) It looks like something designed 20 years ago.

Of course all you have to deal with is PokerStars arrogance. I like Lex Veldhuis but he was really patronizing to PS clients and bitched about people whining for no reason, that Aurora was a great leap forward and opened up so much potential for the future. He dismissed the idea anyone faced problems and degradations as though it was all just a matter of taste. Very ignorant.

It was insulting- but then note that all the PokerStars ambassadors are playing on compatible set ups of course. And, as I noted elsewhere when the EPT Prague goes online in a few days I am sure all the graphics will look wonderful also.

Meanwhile many are left playing on the worst graphics in the business.

Living in the USA - I don't even get a chance to play on PokerStars at all. Software is hard, give some time they should correct the error.

I think we have to live with it for now.
If a lot of people complain, maybe then Stars will do something.
But if not, Stars could indeed lose some players....

No, you are missing the point. This is a graphics engine they have forced everyone to adapt.

From when they first instigated the major change (January) people were really put out as for many their graphics degraded. They offered an option to switch back. They have just removed that option.

I can play but the graphics are dreadful. Many cannot play with their screen freezing and some cannot play at all. I have two laptops less than two years old - the graphics are dreadful on both - but PokerStars is the one and only site where this degradation occurs. period.

That is why it was so disappointing to hear Lex Veldhuis dismiss everyone's complaints. Essentially he said its done and it benefits PokerStars. No word on those who have had their play ruined, and certainly no word they will re-instate or revert back to user friendly graphics that can work for everyone.

Aurora Engine PokerStars

Yes, Aurora cannot be disabled any more. At least this is the current status. I have contacted Pokerstars twice, sent log-data and so on, but haven't received an answer yet.
Maybe more of us should complain directly. In the long run it doesn't make sense to play that way, so if PS doesn't change anything I´m afraid I will have to leave the site.

I've found a theme and settings that work and dont seem to degrade performance.

But my biggest issue is that I can't easily manually enter amounts in the bet box. I used to always bet that way. Now I have to use the slider which really slows things down. I use a Mac and a trackpad. I don't know if that's an issue for Windows users, but I assume not.

why not use custom bet buttons? there is not really a need to type in different bet sizings in the bet box in my opinion.

aurora was a very bad idea. it runs on my computer more or less, and i have a pretty mediocre laptop from 2016 with 4gb ram. never play more than 2 tables there so maybe my opinion is not that important for others.

I do use bet buttons, but there are only a few choices that can be preset.

I think it will be difficult to wait for a response from the support service. The Aurora engine will now be the main engine. You won't get any choice. PokerStars considers everything made a breakthrough in the future. Why don't they buy new computers for all their users.

I have no problem with it on my good laptop. Have to dial down the settings on an older one and turn off animations and throwables or it crashes the system.

Graphically I think it looks better than the old classic tables but I don't consider it an improvement as far as gameplay goes and I can imagine it might cause a problem for multitabling, though I don't do that.

I expect it won't be long before they stop supporting it on Windows 7
