<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 9pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">My husband and I used to go to AC almost every week to play 2-4 lim poker. We were not able to go this past month and it has changed a lot. We went today and although we doubled our money its just not the same. All AC casinos have gone almost no smoking. You never could smoke in the poker rooms which I could understand but you could step right outside them and have a cig. Mostly we play poker at Tropicana. Now if you want to catch a quick cig you have to leave the poker room and go almost all the way across the casino.

<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 9pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Trying to find smoking areas in most of the casinos (we checked out 4 of them) is a joke. It is so broken up you need a map to find them.

You can't sit at your table and give complete strangers cancer anymore? :( :( :(

This is a good thing so YOU cant give me cancer. I knew a waiter that worked at showboat and got cancer from inhaling second hand smoke and died. I think it s a good law

I agree. I'm so happy that poker is smoke free, and I believe the other table games are following suit now with this newer law. It's good for everyone.

I quit smoking back in November (best thing I ever did). I went to play in a poker tournament last week at the local casino. To get to the poker room, you have to walk all the way through the main floor of slots. Oh my GOD. Having to breathe in all the smoke was absolutely horrendous!! I never realized just how bad the second hand smoke really was. I felt guilty for all the times I've lit up in a public place and subjected people to my once bad habit. :(

To the OP: I know it's hard. But do yourself (and others around you) a favor, and quit smoking! You won't believe how much better you'll feel in a matter of weeks. You have more energy, food tastes better, you can actually breathe and not hyperventilate if you choose to get some exercise. I've never felt better.

regardless of if you are killing yourself or not, poker seems a little empty without the smoke filled room. and the see through visors. and flip up glasses. and tight unbuttoned polo shirts.

haha my has poker changed.

The government shouldn't be regulating every little step of our lives. You have no smoking bans, no junk food laws, no trans fat laws, no cell phone while driving laws, seatbelt laws, no online poker laws. We are being herded into micro manage safety bubbles because "it's for our own good". Well I for one resent the government trying to manage my life like that. I am an adult and I can make some pretty good judgements on how to live my life.
