I'm trying to plan out a trip to Vegas for Oct 6-11th. I'm going to block out Monday and Tuesday as Poker days... Wed/Thurs are for a wedding event.

The budget is $400 - 450. I will play at least two MTT's in the mid-afternoon with an option for an evening tourney if I don't go deep. I have played at both rooms and really like the Aria. I know the Aria is Debi's favorite too.

Here's the question... Comparing the Venetian $150 to the Aria $125 I'm almost leaning towards the Venetian...

Start: ... 1:00PM (Aria) ... 12:00PM (Venetian)
Buy-in: ... $125 ... $150
Chips: ... 10,000 ... 12,000
Levels: ... 30 min (both)
Antes: ... Level 4 100/200/25 (both)
Blinds: ... Both have the same structure
# players: ... Both average around 100/day
Re-entry: ... Both allow rebuys up to level 4

Obviously, the Venetian pays out a little more, but in essence, all things are equal...

We will be staying at the Cosmo. No need for Poker comps.
I'm thinking about the following schedule:

Monday:
Aria $125 1PM
Busto option - Aria $125 7PM

Tuesday:
Venetian $150 12PM

Thoughts? Comments? Has anybody played the Venetian 12PM? I've played the 7PM $120 buy-in but never the daytime one...
No, I'm not looking for a stake. I'll post a rail thread when I get there.

Yea - your plan to play 1 of each sounds like a good one. Being at the Cosmo you are closer to the Aria of course. That would matter to me lol.

I haven't played the Venetian noon in years because there is always a VDS going on when I am there so they don't have those.

I will be going back on Nov 10th for 10 days - can't wait! You would think as often as we both go we would be there at the same time every now and then lol.

LOL... yep. I am working on a plan to play something like Event 54 in 2014... but it all depends how long I keep getting stuck here in Hawaii. Figures I would have to be there right in-between two VDS events... I'll have to bitch at the newlyweds for picking the wrong date to get married.

Isn't the owner (Sheldon Adelson) of the Venetian of the the biggest objectors of online poker.

Just not sure if I would want to give any business to him.

Which event is 54?

Typically it's the $1500 NLHE the weekend before the Main Event...

@4ever... My $30 isn't going to mean beans in the bigger picture. I'm more concerned about the tournament and the players. If I owned a B&M casino, I would probably object to online poker too as it takes potential revenue away from me.

I disagree it takes revenue away from B&M casino. If it was not for online poker there would not be such a large poker community. The argument makes no sense, most people do not live near casino's and if you can build up the minor leagues and create more interest. Just look at the numbers of people who use to play in wsop before online poker, it was tiny.

Your $30 bucks might not matter, but if all poker players stop going there they would change their stance very quickly.

Based off of where youre located, I would go with the Aria. I'm just lazy though lol.

Im staying at the Palms Place for Labor Day weekend, so all my tourneys will be played at the Rio.
