Well, of course it doesn't seem right to me, so I wanted to get your input. If you look at the terms & conditions (the link he provides at the bottom of the following email) there are no stipulations as to rake collected from any table share-eligible tables, and it actually says that "ANYONE" playing the same limit and table type will get a piece of the jackpot, as long as 4 players are dealt in (which was the case at our table). Read on:

Thank you for reaching the Customer Support Team, with us you can always find the best disposition to assist you!!

Please be aware that, in order to be part of the Bad Beat Jackpot, table must meet some requirements first, one of them is:

-The Bad Beat Jackpot collects $0.50 from the pot of each raked hand that is raked $0.25 or more. Only hands with a rake higher than $0.25 are eligible for the Bad Beat Jackpot

The tables you were playing at the moment the Jackpot was hit, only collected $0.05 of rake one of them and no rake the other, which is not enough to meet the requirement, that is the reason why the share was not credited on that table. For more information about our Bad Beat Jackpot Terms and Conditions, please click on the link below:

Thanks for playing at Absolute Poker! If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know. We are here for you!

Sincerely,

It's the same way at UB--I know they are both together--but you have to be playing at the same rake level--and also be in one of the 'RED' games--Red being the color of the numbers of the money AND it says 'JACKPOT' as well.

Well it doesn't seem right to me (but then again I don't play at BB tables), I think personally it sucks because, of the rake stipulation, but then again, why was your rake so low, when both the players held monster holdings? Ship it in, ship it in now, that's my mato

I honestly got lost in the conversation here because I do not see the question....For a bad beat to take place it needs to be a raked hand of at least $0.50 and on a table deemed 'bad beat'. This prevents 2 people going heads up and talking on IM where they insta fold any non bad beat dealt cards. You could see 200+ hands an hour that way which would increase your odds of hitting the jackpot.

Same thing happens on B & M...typically needs to be 4 players and a certain rake needs to be met to prevent collusion of just seeing an enormous amount of hands.

That help? The rake and # of players per table prevents the cardroom/site from being cheated.

Ok, sorry, let me clarify the situation/question here:

I do understand that for the actual bad beat hand to qualify, there has to be enough in the pot for the jp rake to come out of it. I also understand that a minimum of 4 players have to be initially dealt into the hand, and that any table that qualifies for table share has to have 4 players dealt in. The problem is that they're now saying that my table last night -- which was a full 9-max .25/.50 NL JP table -- was only raked $.05 when the jackpot hit at another table of the same limit/type. (I'm not disputing this, although I don't remember how our hand played out at the time.) The jackpot was legitimately hit for a total of $475K and change, and imo -- based on how everything is worded -- we should have received table share of approx. $400-420 per player, according to our rough calculations.

It seems to me like they don't have the money to pay the jackpot so therefore instead of saying they don't have the money they say you didn't hit the jackpot it was a progam error or your rake wasn't enough or Korea north and south are fighting in war so the jackpot is invaild.

i guess i dont understand why they even have seperate tables. the casinos that i play live poker at take a $1 from every hand plus rake for the bad beat jackpot. i guess i could see excluding micro limits, but nothing other than that
