So...I found an old DVD today and popped it in to see what it was. Turned out it was my audition video (along with all the lovely bloopers while I was trying to record it haha) for pokerstars Big Game TV show. Wow, that must have been something like 10 years ago.
Does anyone else remember having to sit through 3 different 10,000 player tournaments, and needing to place in the top 200 of all 3 to win the invitation to send in an audition video? What about getting the phone call from them? Hahahha When they phoned me and said this is so and so from poker stars, I think I actually said something like "haha very funny, Rick is that you?" Yup, feeling a bit stupid for that did make me a little nervous when answering how I would react during the game scenarios they were giving. I guess my nervous answers passed though, I was told I would get a call back when they started filming for the next season. I was... and now that I remember it, am still sad and disappointed they decided to cancel it after season 2 and I never did get to play. That would have been so Awesome. They should do that again lol.
If you got to send in your video, what did you decide to do with it?
I remember seeing some pretty neat ones when trying to find ideas of what to do with mine, but not being technologically savvy, I ended up just sitting in front of my camcorder, playing with chips while talking. I introduced myself, thanked them for the opportunity to send the video, and mentioned I've seen some creative videos that they'd have fun watching, but that I wasn't going to magically turn myself into wonder woman and fly across their screen holding pocket aces... because I'm technologically inept. I wasn't going to serenade them with my very own rap song... because I can't sing. But that I could play poker, and talked about what I thought it would be like to sit at a table with some of the pros for their Big Game. I then just wished them good luck with their decisions and shut off the camera.
Anyone care to share their story? I'd love to hear them.
