Just wondering if anyone has played at Everest Poker because I noticed a pretty generous first deposit offer so I wanted some opinions on the site.

"Join Everest Poker today, make your first deposit and you will receive:

€10 FREE to try out our real money games.
5 x €1 tokens and 1 x €5 token.
200% Bonus on your first deposit.
Up to a maximum deposit of €750 (to receive a €1,500 bonus).
1 token to a choice of 2 x weekly €2k freerolls.
Held every Monday and Friday at 19:00 GMT
20 Reward Points
These can be redeemed for cash rewards or entry into Rewards tournaments."

Sounds like a good deal to me, anyone have any comments on Everest?

Ya, I was huge on this site before Black Friday, when it was Gus Hansen's deal. Not sure if it is anymore or how much it has changed, but back in the day, it was a great site, soft tables, nice software, etc.

Good luck ;)

Oh nice, I like the ipoker network from my experience with Titan Poker, if you are not already signed up I think you will like like Titan Daniel, it has a weekly $250 added for German players.

I don't play there much lately but I played there for years. They are on Ipoker now, so if you like that, its good. Besides that, they were always, and prob. still are, a reliable pokersite when it comes to payments etc

Everest was the first room I played at. They belong to the Ipoker Network. Pretty dependable room. ;) I remember they had very good freerolls when they were independent years ago.

My favorite site besides Hero Poker, now defunct. Had an account there, then b-f, last year for the hell of it i re-loaded the site, and some how it went thru, didn't even put "country", and now i have another account there, but don't play because of the glitch, wouldn't want to piss'em off.

Just one strange thing about Everest poker.
When trying to withdraw via neteller, I can only withdraw balance minus 5euro.
Does it mean I have to kept that last 5 euro at Everest for ever?

Anyway its too little to contact support, so I suppose I will just gamble for it.

I just signed up there like a week ago to pick around on a new site. Played on titan a little initially when I got back to the cc forum and founds it ran pretty good software wise so figured this would be the same.

However it's such a pita, my connection drops if I try and move a table from one spot on my screen to the other and its such a resource hog that when it happens my entire laptop locks up..........never found issues like this before on titan so perhaps its an ipoker thing in general now? I mean base software running is using like half a gig of ram and with like 1 or two tables is using a full one of my 2 cores....its not a high end laptop but i can run 16+ tables on stars, or 9ish on merge even without having any similar issues.

Just curious if anyone else finds the software to be acting this way lately, or if its on all ipoker skins or maybe something funny with everest (although can't see how i mean its just a color scheme (skin) over the same backend software................regardless i'll pick at it for the 90 day new player period anyhow and see if I can't parlay some shasta steps into some mtt entries and maybe bink something but don't think I would ever consider any serious playing there just based on how the software is running for me.

I haven't noticed any problems recently on ipoker sites (as far as the software goes).

As far as choosing Everest as a Canadian I'd personally choose a different iPoker site to play on (ie. williamhill). When skrill stopped allowing dep/WD to sites for Canadians, there were actually NO methods to withdrawal funds off of Everest (similiarly on BetFred & some of the other iPoker sites so make sure you look closely). I actually had some support staff advising me to leave zero $'s on the site(s) because going forward (post-Skrill) I'd still be able to deposit but wouldn't be able to withdrawal.

This was actually the case on Everest up until I'm not exactly sure when (very recent though). I won a few bucks in some freeroll I just couldn't resist playing (after I had WD my account in Jan. via Skrill) & looked again at dep. & WD options. There still weren't any withdrawal options available :(
I checked to see if they had player-to-player transfer... NOPE. So... no plan.

Then ~1mth. or two ago a friend of mine ran a priv. tourney on there which I ended up winning .... but still no option to Withdrawal. Randomly I go check it again near the end of July & now the 'bank transfer' option is available to Canadians too (prior til' recently it wasn't available & canada was not even listed in the list of Countries). My withdrawal went through promptly which I was obviously pretty happy about.

Why wouldn't I recommend Everest (to Canadians) then... because of this kind of wishy-washy situation for withdrawal options (for now it seems feasible but for how long? ... idk.. maybe it'll be good for a long time... who knows?).

I thought Gus had been a 'red pro' on Fulltilt for a few years prior to Black Friday? And before Fulltilt I thought he was hooked up with betfair

Yeah I noticed the bank transfer being the only withdrawel method, i have a titan and wh account and actually found the ipoker software to be decent when I was playing there and in no way experiencing what I am now with Everest.

Certainly concerning as you mention with the withdrawel situation, thanks for all the info.

Haven't had any issues connecting to Titan or Everest Dave, sucks to hear it's a hassle for you. Sounds like I got lucky signing up when I did regarding the withdrawal options. Hope to see you guys on there.
