This was a shocker...must be spam? What say you and anyone get this crap? Should I be scared? This happened when I was logging on to CC and selected Poker Post. Shocked at first. Thought I'd share. Can CC do anything or is it localized?

:stupid:

SPAM. Try this Ad-Aware. It's free and works great.

Definitely a malware infection of some kind. If Ad-Aware happens not to fix it for you, my preferences are Malware Bytes Anti-Malware and Super AntiSpyware.

It popped up automatically or did you select a specific post? I have never seen this before, and I would recommend you to not click any links.

I will state the obvious. Never give any of your info to a 3rd party site even if they claim to know you. If you have any ? go directly to the source.

Wally, I know you have Norton security installed on your computer. If I were you I would contact them about this problem immediately.

That said, this could be a real lesson for you that even software like Norton can miss things. You really should consider checking out Super AntiSpyware, as d'mo suggested. It's a great weapon against invasions such as this, and you can still have Norton too.

To be clear, Norton is really must an AV engine. It has some rudimentary anti-spyware/malware features, but they really can't compare to a try spyware cleaner tool like the ones mentioned. It's always safe to use multiple on-demand anti-spyware tools -- they all have their strengths and weaknesses and complement each other.

What is definitely NOT recommended, and a recipe for major performance issues, is to run multiple real-time AV products at once. So pick an AV product like Norton for real-time protection, but supplement it with anti-malware tools.

O.k. i got the same message tonight. Of course I didnt open it. I will run ad=aware and if that does not work to remove the mal-ware I will try some of the other things suggested.

It didn't come from CC. He picked it up from elsewhere and it inserted itself into that page.

Not CC... malware.

Yeah I know I was joking. I know CC wouldn't do anything like that. I was joking about the felonies too :argh:
