Anyone else surprised PKR isn't more popular?

PKR was one of the first poker rooms I signed up to many years ago, mainly for the realism and interactive experience with the other players. Nowadays though less people seem to use it, with an average of just 1500 players online this morning, compared to iPoker network rooms such as Coral and PaddyPower sitting at around the 5,000 level and getting as many as 9,000 at peak times in the evening.

So what is there not to like about PKR? Is it you'd just rather play poker without any fancy interface and multitable?

As much as I like the large player pools and sites like pokerstars, PKR is very unique, and i'm very surprised it hasn't attracted as many people to it with it's realistic features.

Hi Leslie.

When PKR first started I opened an account there but found it a bit unreliable. I have not played there for a while but I also found the interface a bit unnecessary? Perhaps others think the same? I have checked my account since I read your post and find that PKR lite the better option - less "mucking" about. Gl to you :) :):)

One of the more popular things about PKR that I found was that you never lost your status moving up thru the levels.
I think the only problem is the graphics, they are great but take a lot of room on the laptop/pc.
I have a good PC, but even so still had difficulties with the site from time to time. I don't play there anymore, but had a good run of tourney wins at the lower stakes.

i have played there last two years and i have found that games are slow and boring,
due to tech difficulties i played lite version and the interface didnt attract me
that is enough reasons for their small popularity

Yeh I think speed of the play is probably a big factor for most players. I don't really get chance to play much live poker so playing at PKR is the closest I can get really. I did play a few hands earlier however and didn't notice it being much slower than a game on Pokerstars.

It doesnt feel like playing real poker at all. I mean you playing its just another poker room, but with 3d design, but the reason why this poker room isnt popular, because you play poker just simply to play poker, you dont need advanced graphics for that.

I think PKR isnt so popular is that you really need a powerful PC to be able to run it, most of us want to play via Notebook or cellphones, but PKR software has a high requierement, besides multitabling there is almost none, 8 tables tops.
