Any possibility that Full Tilt OR Pokerstars will be open to US players in 2014?

Being a U.S player my choices are obviously limited, but I would much rather play at one of these two sites, and I'm wondering if there's any chance at all that either of these players will open up to the U.S for real money again in 2014.

thats a good read, makes some key points on why they might allow us to come back.

if New Jersey and the borgata can do it, its going to happen. online poker makes a lot of money.

I believe sites will have an easier time convincing state legislatures to legalize online gambling if poker only is available. Playing against the house would be a huge disadvantage to convincing these states.

(removed spammy link)

That is just an affiliate page full of links - it is not a reputable source for news - we don't even know who wrote it but is obviously just an ad for sites. As a matter of fact it is so bad I don't want to give them free advertising so going to remove it ;)

It is not unlikely that we will see PS or FT in the US in 2014 - but if we do it would be in very limited states - for example New Jersey.

Some of us in the US may never be able to play at those sites again.

I hope that US players will be allowed to play in these rooms. That would be a big boost.

We need to keep pushing our local elected officials throughout the country. A national web site would be the way to go and provide the government with additional taxes.

In 2014? Probably not. Eventually? Probably.

Things move so painfully slow in the US. It's been nearly 3 years since Black Friday, and nothing is happening at the Federal level. Well, not "nothing", but the pace is beyond tedious. We have just a couple of individual States that have opened up in that time.

Making online poker available to the masses is simply not a priority to the Federal Gov't nor to most States. Think about how much trouble these guys have managing critical issues. It's hard to have any confidence that they can manage a simple one.

I don't know what the law is in the US but in the uk if a petition has 100k signatures then they need to raise the debate in parliment.....do you guys get that option and if so do you think you would be able to get 100k sigs?

I doubt the time frame. Cos FTP still needs to settle the issue with DOJ?
2014 may finished all issue?
after that they may apply for license later?

I am just hoping something happens this year we need real options in the us and I don't understand when every state is broke why they wouldn't do it when it would bring in lots of tax money I don't think any us player would complain about the tax. Heck here in ilinois every gas station, bar, and restaurant has slot machines in them and we can't play poker? BS

We all love pokerstars. At least all of us who had funds in their Pokerstars accounts when 'BlackFriday' struck. Pokerstars got right with sending what was in my account in less than a week. The Bush admin. hated us for our freedom and brought us the UIGEA. Bank fraud laws are supposed to be in place to protect the populace, not to give prosecutors tools to get convictions where there were no victims. The DOJ really overstepped their boundaries and law suits against them are valid.

I don;t think there is any chance of this happening but if it did I would be more than excited. I can't stand the tournaments on Carbon. Bovada has been getting better so I have been playing there a bit. Hopefully there is some sort of light at the end of the tunnel

Some of those sites that had issues with the DOJ won't be eligible to get a license for 5 years, and then they could still get denied. With the deposit issue with skrill in Canada recently, it's not looking rosy for them now. Could be the start of a conspiracy [hate to use that word] of the Canadian government, if that's what it's called, and the U.S. government to try some diabolical scheme to curtail online poker in both countries. I know that sounds maniacal, but geeez, our gov. is maniacal. Does anyone know if there's internet service at the north pole? LOL.

I miss both sites terribly. PS was my favorite. Also lost the best of the other networks too. Pacific was another I enjoyed. Seems a shame that in a country based on freedom, we have so few left to us.

I think the US will allow online poker soon as a few states get the ball rolling and the rest will get on board , Texas on the other hand will prolly be the last to jump in , seems we are always taking a nap and bring'n up the rear :-( "IMO"
