Does anybody knows if there is an option to remove the automatic registration in the target tournament after winning a satellite in pokerstars. It's so embarassing because the system registers you automatically even in the late registration so you have no option but to play immediately after sat game is over

Nope its not something that is optional on stars. They run satalites to encourage people to play the main tournies and boost the numbers and therefore gtd amounts for the prizepool.

Essentially its up to the player to be prepared that if the satty doesn't finish prior to the tourney start then they will be autoregistered and most mtt satties are setup this way unless they are for bigger events not taking place until a later date.

It's not the same on all sites, but with most it is I do believe. Only play I have seen different was ftp where I sattied into the double deuce once and they actually credited me the T$ because the tourny was already started at which point I went and regged in the game because it was already my plan to play it.

Happened me with a $200 ticket on partypoker - auto reg'd me for massive tourney which started only 30 mins later, thankfully I had time to unreg! Its a shame that they do it this way, I think most people don't want to jump into another 4+ grueling hours of tourney play after just finishing up in one!

If you know you will not be able to play then you should not play satellite. Before registering pokerstars gives warning that you will not be able to unregister.

Why do you register to a sat if you dont want to play in target tourney lol?
Sats are usually turbo so take max 2 hours (plus the tournament). A player has to calculate it all the time.

Yes, they've answered as it was expected. Bla bla bla....thanks for the feedback, we are constantly working on new functions, etc... Also they've promised that the issue will be addressed to the corresponding department for consideration in the future function updates:) So we can hope that one day they will not autoregister in the late registration phase, especially for regular tournaments

I want to play, but not immediately after the sat has finished and in the late registration when the blinds are close to the initial stacks. For example, i have won a ticket for The Bigger tourney, and wanted to play next time (its a regular one). That is the point!

It's an embarrasing practice if the room don't let you unregister from the target event, after all it's your money and you can change your opinion to play or not .

Unregister have to be possible whatever the tournament have started or not.

I believe that poker rooms can don't let you to register just in only one case : if there's added seats for the target event in the satellite tournament then it will be fair.

I believe that pokestars

It is quite simple.
Don't play the satty !
There are plenty of tournaments with cash payouts to choose instead.
The satties are there for a purpose, not for you to abuse.
(If you really want to play a later regularly held tournament then register to a later satellite, again quite simple).

Registering to a satellite without intending to play the target is as bad as rebuying in a Privilege Freeroll.

I wouldn't be very happy getting auto-registered in a game that had already started. I should have the right to play a game from the beginning. What happens if you're starting with 10-15 BBs?? That's not what I entered the satty for.

Yes, exactly! That's what I want to stress out. It's not fair, unless it is the last tournament that is available to play via satellite ticket.

Yeah they should really change that. Or atleast have a bb minimum to enter.

The owness is on the player entering the satty to see if the target game will be starting before the satty is completed. When entering most satty's (esp on PS) a window will pop-up telling you in no uncertain terms that if you win a seat to the target event that you will be automatically entered in said event if said event starts before completion of the satty. That's your chance to not play the satty if you don't want to play the target event at that time.

Fair or not, you agreed to it by entering the satty.
