So Annie Duke has this iphone freeroll on AP/UB. Prize pool is $250. She shows up late taslking about how she is tired from the 5K PLO8 game she is in. She then goes all in with 63 and is left with 185 chips. Her next hand is K5 so again she's all in. The rest of the table all goes in too because taking her out is worth 25 bucks.

I love Annie but this is a pro playing?

Would need to see the hand history...if she was late and the blinds were up was she in a good spot to bluff? Might just have been tired and wanted to get out, but a HH would help.

I don't have the hand history but it was about 15 minutes into the game. I started the thread at 19 after and it started at 2pm, It's only been running for 40 minutes total.

Usually people defend the "pros" with comments about how they do things that are so many levels above everyone else that we can't even understand it. Heheh.

LOL.

Do you really think any cares about a $250 freeroll or losing $25? Do you really think she is going to sit down and concentrate on an iPhone game when she has a 5K (probably buy-in) PLO8 game on the side?

Yeah, right.

I am out in 42nd place winning 1.12 not bad for playing an hour in a FR.

(Chip count 3000) Blinds are 200/400 I have 1010 UTG + 1 raise 4xbb BB calls. Flop comes all cards 789. I go all in and of course he calls with AK. Has me covered. K hits the river.

She obviously didn't care about the freeroll. She really shouldn't schedule these for days she is playing in the wsop. It just makes her look bad to show up late and just shove with nothing. She clearly wanted to the bare minimum to fulfill her obligation as the bounty.

She didn't at all. I agree you. I did not think she was gonna sit there and play the entire thing but the way she just donked it off wasn't right to the people that really came to play.

I kinda agree. BTW, I follow her Tweets as well as @ 85 other pros for my FT WSOP Fantasy picks. I saw her mention the freeroll, but couldn't figure out how to find it by her tweets. http://twitter.com/AnnieDuke Where the heck is this Poker Tutor(ial?) App supposed to be found??? I gave up quickly. BTW, for weeks, she's been offerring prizes for correct answers to her own personal trivia questions, like her 2nd daughter's middle name, stuff like that.

The app is for the iPhone only as far as I know.

Yeah, right.

She should care if she promotes it through an exclusive Annie Duke iPhone application.

For the record I don;t care if she cares but she could have at least tried and played a few good hands. Otherwise she could have announced. I'm all in good luck everyone.

I guess who cares. Annie Duke doesnt have to explain why she playued like a donkey.

Once you have agreed to be on a show with Helmuth, why pretend you still have standards.

they're getting the right price to call all day long... why they (& why you?) didn't ship it pre is kinda odd

You are right. I should have shipped it pre in this case. I was going all in no matter what so I should have made a better attempt to narrow the field. Leak in my game that i am still trying to plug.

Thanks for the advice.

Wouldn't that have been against the rules? I know she isn't announcing her actual hand but effectively telling people that she was shoving with nothing and wanted to be knocked out would be pretty poor form and it'd definitely affect the action.

She turned up and played the tournament (however brief and bad her play may have been), I assume whoever knocked her out got the advertised bounty and you all got to play in a freeroll.

What would you have preferred? That she tried really hard and won the thing? That she limp-folded one hand then sat out? I don't get what you're so worried about.

She played like a donkey in one of the Charity tournaments a while back too...it was a $5 rebuy - I was at her table - I forget what charity...Haiti I think. Anyway...every single hand she kept going allin regardless and kept rebuying until she had a massive stack. She ruined it for our entire table who was there to contribute a little and have fun. I lost respect for her that day.

Ya, I remember that tournament...It was on UB for Haiti...she did go all-in the entire time...it was aggravating, to say the least!:(

annie isn't one of my favorites, for some reason i prefer the men pros with the exception of jennifer harmon - i really like her.
as far as i'm concerned once a pro makes a name for themselves they can do what ever they want, because in the long run and when it really matters to them i'm sure they decisions will work in thier favor.
it's not easy being in your top game 100%. think about it, it's fun to blow off a little steam sometimes. :hello: :star: :bootyshak :toilet: :pepsi: :saint: :heeeellll gotta love smilies................peace.

As long as Annie Duke leaves the money at the freeroll table I don't care what she does. Imagine if she won and no one won her bounty. Now, that would suck.
P.S. I don't know how Annie Duke can arrive 40 minutes late and play at UB poker, I was pre-registered for yesterday's game and God forbid, I was a few stinkin minutes late. Well, at UB and AP that is the death knell. By the time it downloaded the new software at UB, and I clicked on Registered In Games, it said I am BUSTED out of the game. Just for not arriving in time to play the game. This has happened to me several times at this pokersite. Yes it gets me worked up. I won't be making any more deposits at these 2 sites as they BUST me out of games for being a little late. This was far from the first time. If a person is late for a freeroll, is no need to take all their chips away. No other sites I play at do this.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but...

Annie Duke is about as much a class act as anything or anyone around her (i.e. Phil Hellmuth, Ultimate Bet). From the first thing I heard about her I knew she was going to fit right in with that crowd. But that's fine with me.

Was money from the rebuys going towards the charity?
