Anyone ever heard of Americas card room? Yeah, I was thinking of downloading this poker site. Anyone know if its really for U.S players or what. Also can someone rate this poker site. I seen image of this software and I can say it looks pretty decent.

Never heard of it, but looking at the promotions, it looks like a Yatahay (True / Doyles) network skin -- which generally means it accepts US players.

As Mentor says above, it is definitely on the Yatahay Network and it does accept US players.

They were actually one of the first Internet poker sites back in the early 2000s. They also just purchased Doyle's Room, which is on the same Network.

From the email I got;

[FONT=Arial,sans-serif]Something exciting is happening at DoylesRoom, and as a result, our software will require a scheduled downtime from 3:00am ET until 7:00am ET tomorrow Wednesday October 11th. When we're back online, you'll notice a transformation that's going to change the poker landscape for the better.
DoylesRoom is becoming Americas CardRoom and the future is going to be amazing. Americas CardRoom and DoylesRoom are proud to announce the acquisition of DoylesRoom along with the rights to the player and affiliate database, the DoylesRoom software, staff, and player liability. But first, let's talk about what won't change:
  • October's Big Promos—everything remains intact
  • Great Software—it's exactly the same as before, except for some new colors and a brand new logo
  • Your Login Credentials—sign in to the new software just as you would to DoylesRoom
  • Your Account Assets—Information like hand histories, player notes, FPPs, bonuses, and more will remain intact
  • Your Account Balance—it will remain 100% intact
  • The Dedicated Staff—all the day-to-day people behind the scenes will remain on board
____________________________________________
It goes on to describe new stuff. I play there, and I like the place, and the software. Better software than the brain dead version of Stars software IMHO, and my tracking software works there.

Well Americas Card Room actually opened back up before purchasing Doyles. They purchased Doyles though to try and increase their player database.

As you mention, they have been doing a lot of advertising on a few different cable Networks that I've seen. Obviously, advertisements are a good thing and will help increase the player pool while brining some of the recreational players back.

I should also mention the client is the same other than they changed the colors and layout. It functions the same as the previous Doyles Room client and the same as True Poker and the other Yatahay skins.

Pretty big dl for the upgrade.

All windows have new colors, but the shapes are the same. Doyle can rest easy now, his Name and Pics have been removed.

Login process transferred easy and no problems there. BR intact.

Logo button in my task bar changed, but not the name of my shortcut. They did not crate a new desktop icon.

I know that ACR is on the winning network (formely yatahay) and I am just wondering if anyone has been able to find a site that tracks game data for players like sharkscope. I have not found anything but i continue to look

If there is one, you might find it by googling your ACR name.

I have tried that and could not find anything as of now. I was just trying to get my stats for a possible backer. I used to have it all on PT but my HDD crashed a few weeks ago so now I am out...oh well I will keep looking

To my knowledge no such tracking exists on The Winning Poker Network :(

Always back up your database!!

Why is there almost a 2 year gap between posts on this one page in this thread? Seems kinda weird seeing how ACR is definitely one of the best poker sites for US residents.

The most likely and common answer to this in a forum is that someone used a search engine and found this thread. They didn't pay attention or care about the dates on it and bumped it.

It took that long for ACR to reach something close to critical mass. A few of us here have been thru many iterations of DR>ACR, and liked the first looks of ACR, but didn't get the full story until recently.

It depends on what and how the upcoming software updates provide us as to the ultimate fate of WPN. I really can't imagine how they can't help but become a very good platform, unless they have slept thru player comments and suggestions for the last 2 years.

Probably the best thing going for WPN at this time is a fairly predictable, fairly well documented withdrawal procedure. Best in the US as far as I can tell.
