So far the US player pool on pokerstars are not allowed to mingle outside their respective jurisdictions. Similar to what has happened in a couple of European jurisdictions. Rest assured that the player pools would love to be able to play against each other but PS has to abide by the regulations for each jurisdiction. So poker stars New Jersey is limited to the player pool in NJ.

Real smart legislators. As if NJ vs. NJ players will have enough players to have a decent size player pool.
My guess is you may get 400 players in Jersey to play tournaments, so we talking about maybe a $7500 tourney for a Super Sunday tourney, lol.

It will be good to have our American brothers and sisters back on Stars when we can finally all play against each other again. I take it this what they are aiming for? Always enjoyed the games against them.

Yeah the player pool stinks so far and getting a 6 person Omaha table at micro is not an easy thing to do.

Will there be more players from USA in the next year?
Or will it only be players of NJ?

It will never be like the old days. Every state will act differently, some states like California will probably keep it intrastate, meaning that only Californian's can play each other. There will also be conservative states like Nebraska and Utah that probably will never regulate the game. Regulation has been killing this game for years and not vice versa.

Good one! :) But we call ourselves Americans. I don't think those other countries refer to themselves as Americans. They are Brazilians, Panamanians, Costa Ricans, Guatemalans, etc. Or am I wrong? You would know better than me.

Hate to say it but NJ Pokerstars site player pool is already decreasing after less than a month. Nevada only player pool also very weak.
I guess it's ok to smoke pot but poker is unamerican?
Or should I say unnorthamerican? :)

Are you referencing just NJ or have they opened up to other states as well?

They are getting tax revenue to spend foolishly and at the end of the day that is all they care about.

There are 3 states that are currently regulated and it will at least be a year before states like Cali and Penn join the crew if not a lot longer. Also regulation will never be what it once was, bigger states like New Jersey can end up making the games intrastate only (meaning all the games are instate only), which only kills poker liquidity in America much faster for online poker.
