Hi Guys,
I had a mini rant earlier about my experience in freerolls on 888 Poker, where regardless of tournament status there seems to be this ALL IN Mentality with any half decent hand. I've lost a load of hands and chips to 'inferior' hands you know the type, 63o, 29s, 85o etc....Anyway...

I entered this event just now, this is the first hand dealt.

Now, not much crap here but I have to ask the following:
  • 1. how often do you get all 4 Aces dealt and what are the odds?
  • 2. Which hand would you be most comfortable with, and the worst? Why?
No cheating:icon_sant I'll add the reveal later on..

Due to the fact that these tournaments are a lottery of all lotteries I wouldn't even care to put any thought in it or hands played there. You can win there or get to the good places only if luck is on your side and.. that's it.

Ok. Qs:
1. I think it happens quiet often, the question is how often all of them will go all in lol. The answer is above.
2. AKo obv is the best, but you have only around 35% to win this, AQo is the second favorite, it has 24%. So nothing truly ground shattering can happen here. KTo is the worst.

AK has a good position and is the best hand. AQ is a second but still All-In worthy. A-10 and K-10 are kinda good, but I wouldn't go all in if I was in that spot. I don't like the A-2 at all. Middle pairs are better for straights i think.

It is something you see quiet often espeically in free rolls.
To answer your question, I would be most comfortable with AK, and least comfortable with A2.
But if I would have been playing at this table it is unlikely I would have called all in with any of these hands, especially if a couple had already go all in before me, as no hand has a great advantage.

With 888 Poker and the hyper turbo lotto format of free rolls most of the time its all in or fold.

See the update Meencheeta, it was the Queen that won it, down to luck again I suppose. I was more 'concerned' that ALL Aces were dealt out on the very first hand.

Because I rarely lose to the better starting hand. It's usually the guy who never should have entered in the first place, who refused to be bet out of that hand that he never should have entered, who keeps on calling/raising against insurmountable odds, who somehow gets lucky - usually on the river.

BTW - I'm just kidding. I NEVER play A2o. In fact I would fold it pref-flop if the poker software would let me when I'm sitting in the BB un-raised..

Oh I know the situation all too well. I really dislike if someone pushes in with a weak A and then hits something against my strong A or even AA.

I've won more huge pots with 6/9o or 5/9s against top 5-10 premium starting hands on 888. Then algorithm is a bit fishy if you ask me ha.

Usually all-in events happen in super turbo freerolls and tourneys because of the super fast blind structures that forces players to quickly go all-in on bad to mediocre hands.

ST games means stack size and for this shoving is must. Either you shove because of hunch or because of cards, it does not matter.
