Advice for small BR at Carbon

I finally got a small BR at Carbon Sat. and want to build it up like I have at 4 other sites. You all have given me advice in the past that has worked and I need some now on this. I played some at ring table and picked up a little, but have to play so tight, don't know if that is going to work. Also played a $1 buy in $100 GTD MTT, but the truth is, I have never done good in their tournys. Am I thinking negative about this site, which makes me think I'm going to lose no matter what? Maybe I should just put it out there an see what happens.

if you have a small br and looking for low varaince I would suggest the DON's. They are not exactly exciting and generally you want to be playing really tight especially in early levels when its no point or little point in stealing blinds...but they are a great way of building a br.

As Dave suggested... I would probably start out with some regular speed sngs, Dons, etc. Maybe throw in some Mtts every now and again, but I wouldn't rely solely on mtts bc we all know the variance that comes with em. GL out there!!

Thanks guys. I have made up my mind that I'm going to try one more $1.10 MTT and the rest I'm going to take to a 2/4 cent ring game. One thing about me, I believe in what you all have told me here, and my game has got better. I mean that I seldom lose a lot at one time because I will get up and leave and try again later. Also I'm thinking my hands through like Bear has told me to do. It has worked. But all the advice I have received here works. I have money on 6 sites and almost every time I play at any of them I win something. Things have changed for me since I became an active member here, and it's all good. Confidence is a major factor in poker, and you all have given me that. Thanks

Thanks you all. I'm sure trying to do those things Bear, and it sure has helped. I played there some awhile ago, but decieded that I need to try to win some in the league and the freeroll here before I try to use that money.

That is so true ScooperNova. I played a little in a ring game yesterday. Won nothing and lost nothing. But I have our freeroll tomorrow and my league games this weekend, so think I will wait on that and see if I can add some and if not I'm sure going to do what you said. Either win or lose. It really don't matter that much. Thanks

Id suggest you play what is most comfortable for you. Like a few people have said the DoN's are pretty safe to build up at a slow pace @ $1-$2 buyins. Mix up a MTT maybe some cash tables if u like them better until you get a feel for the site. Some players run extremely well others run bad @ Carbon. All in all I guess its poker. Goodluck PapaC
