I was just on their website just looking around and i ran Across it saying that u can play in 43 out of 50 us states . ..louisiana being listed as one u can't but i have registered on that site and been playing for a few weeks and i am from louisiana . ....so why am i able to play? Will i not be able to cash out? I shouldn't even been able to register if this state is on the list

You can easily register, deposit and play but withdraw might be in issue. I am from canada and can play online poker legally. I find ACR use shady tactics to skirt around laws like having different receiver names when depositing and withdrawing. I was not impressed when I deposited and my credit card statement read a bogus name other than ACR. Full tilt used the same tactic before they got busted. ACR has still been under the radar. I don't play there anymore, because I am afraid of keeping larger amounts on the site and that has affected my game. ACR has good games, but I would rather gamble on the table than worry about the site. Proceed with caution, if you decide to play there.

I just read their Terms and Conditions and you are right.Louisiana is listed as restricted. There is an official Americas Cardroom thread here at Cardschat where ACR representative answers people's questions,so you should ask their representative about the issue in this thread:

I play ACR, and only deposit with Western Union ... however, when i deposited on Bovada, i got a charge for "Miscellaneous Entertaiment", and another charge for "Financial Consulting". Never a charge for "Bovada Sportsbook".

I always felt that it was shady ... however ... i dont anymore. If you bank with Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, etc, and they see a charge for "Internet gambling", they will probably ask you to leave their bank. I live in California, and i know that you can no longer buy gift cards in our state that allow International Online Transactions ... which is exactly what these payments are. The bogus service descriptions are just a way of throwing off the banks so that they dont start asking questions. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

shady ... yes. smart ?? very.
