Hey all,

Does anyone else play at ACR and hit the $10 on-demand freerolls? I know they prizes are weak, but I like that there is a freeroll running all the time so I don't have to try to "plan" around a tourney start time. The fields aren't too bad either, as they wont get past 600, but that dwindles down to under 100 rather quickly.

These tourneys are probably pittance to many of you, but I am enjoying getting back into the swing of poker. These little freerolls are helping me tune-up my game while allowing me to build the tiniest of bankrolls. I have played in some of the larger ones at other sites, but those fields are massive and I have not had much luck so far (for example, had a top 20 stack and ran KK into AA PF against the only player with a larger stack, oh well)

However, I have been fortunate enough to final table an ACR freeroll each of the past 3 days. The whole point for me is to make a little cash to play with, but to also build up my skills again. I know you can only build so much skill in a freeroll, but just seeing hands and running into situations is beneficial as I try to regain some form.

Anyways, kinda got off track there. Anyone else play in these on a fairly regular basis? If so, send me your user name and perhaps we can play a tourney together.

I have played but not regularly, they are decent and great to start up a br from nothing as well if you have lots of time on your hands to grind them in multitudes and do well they have a leaderboard which offer seats to large buyin tournies so always something to keep in mind as well with them.

Good luck in the grind.

I say to you that the freerolls are not the best way of learning poker, a lot of bingo is played there, it is preferable to play tilts of 1 buy in forward

It is absolutely a lot of bingo but as you get deeper, there is actually decent play and something to be learned. I have been playing a long time but do see value in just seeing hands and situations presented on freerolls

If you like playing freerolls and it works out best, thats all good. there really isn't nothing wrong with playing freerolls except that it doesnt pay much and you play through more people. always trust your strategy. if it works, why stop .. but for acr, i think the goal is try and get on the leaderboard for every 2 weeks, the top contender gets a seat in one of the big mtt. Its fun to actually try and do it, i have gotten on the board, but never put enough effort to try and get top finisher.

I play this all the time and finally placed to earn some money. I just hate all the aggressiveness and my cards getting beat because some dumbutt called my 3 of a kind and got a lucky straight! This just happened booo. Now i have to start all over and place again. hahaha

I rarely do, but I played one yesterday alongside a .50+.05. I probably would only play the freeroll with another tourney running; it's hard to justify the time spent. If I were grinding up from $0, then I'd play them more, but I deposited instead.

I play on black chip which is has the same tourneys and I will play in the 10 dollar on demands sometimes, though I prefer the freerolls that give you a chance to sattelite your way into the big tourneys. After playing three months on Bovada ranging from 85 to 235 and back to 85 I feel like I'm wasting my time so I'm spending the rest of my bullets on the 100k cheap seats at Bovada and trying to work myself in the big tourneys on Black chip.

Sounds like to me you got your act together. I think freefolls are some of the hardest tournaments to play, because of all the bingo players.

They are great if you have no BR. Hard to cash easy to win if you get some chips going though. intertops also so some decent freerolls daily. 15/300-500 get MTT tickets and also some $250 cash freerolls run on there.

I find these freerolls very easy but they can be very hard at the same time. They are fun and an easy way to start your bank roll but until you get down to about 100 players, just play tight. Placing top 10 in this tournament isn't very hard if you play tight and wait for your hand.

I have recently just started playing in these freerolls. I have noticed that it does help build your game but at the same time i find myself playing rather aggressively due to what some people will call you with during a hand. it is very frustrating at times during these freerolls

I started playing ACR $10 freerolls, intending to make a bankroll from nothing. Made it to the top 25 many times but never cashed. I eventually got lazy and just deposited $10 to start my bankroll

I am glad that they have these it gives you time to build a bank roll, plus it makes up for quick time while waiting on other tournaments to happen I hope these never go away

I have never played these but I think it is not a good way to learn poker and can lead you to many leaks when you will start playing at real money buy in tournaments. Thats because these tourneys are all the time and u have nothing to lose and you call with hands that in regular tourney you would have folded them. Not to mention all the bingo players.

But anyway if you dont have any alternative way of getting a small starting bankroll, good luck with these :)

I don't think I could even bare to play through a freeroll at this point. Eight hours of bingo for $1...maybe.
