Is it normal for a poker room to require copies of documents and even from your bank account? What would be the risk of doing this? Has any of you ever done it without problems?

No problem. Without verification of your account with copies of the documents you will not be able to prove your identity. How will you withdraw money from the poker-room to your Bank card? You have to specify the personal data of your Bank card.

I've never had a problem with that. Photo of the passport, photo of the apartment bill to confirm my address. Verification is mandatory. Without it, you can not get the money you won.

when I withdrew 100 dollars from pokerstars, they did not demand anything, but I suspect that if the amount is more, they will require documents...

I did it a few years ago ... now again I have a problem with the withdrawal of funds and they are asking for more documents (passport and bills). It looks like I'm very suspicious.

Do you have serious reasons for saving incognito?
Because it's really easy to verify your acc. Or maybe haven't you any time for it?

Guys! I'm sure that the measures of their identification are excessive!
* About danger: it's always a risk! The data can be used in fraud or selling you as an individual!

All the more reason to be very careful about selecting which poker site you want to join. Most/all of them are offshore. Some of them have shady pasts. Even the really big, completely legitimate (non-gambling) corporations get hacked.

When you go sleep isn't it without risk to not wake up?

I guess we all have done this and personally i try to keep myself on well known poker sites. Even though almost every poker site is not to much rigid when it comes to reviewing the proof of residence, TonyBet, for example doesn't find appropriate or good enough a copy of phone bill or such, in exchange they insist on bank statement to be send. So that's kind of out of a position. I believe poker sites in generally, wouldn't have to insist on bank statements for a proof of residence as long as a player doesn't use that specific bank as a deposit/withdraw method. Otherwise it's just inappropriate

This is normal, and I went through this procedure. Without this, you will not be able to withdraw money. Only they do not require a bank account number. You need a copy of a bank check or a copy of a check to pay for utilities.

Risk would be misuse of confidential information.

I play on quite a few networks (Pokerstars, 888 Poker, ACR, Titan Poker) and have all of them verified. Haven't had any problems yet.

I needed verification on Pokerstars, but 888 was ok without (I made a deposit through paypal), and my Grosvenor Poker account is linked to my casino account which was opened in the casino

There is a risk anytime you provide sensitive personal information to anyone, even a well known poker site. I personally wouldn’t risk it to withdraw a few hundred dollars. Just keep it in play on the site and use it to have fun playing poker for entertainment.

If you don't trust a poker room, why it should trust you?

I guess if you were withdrawing a lot at one time, or you were withdrawing every few days it would be wise for them to check for verification. You could be the scammer and not the poker site ????

While it’s not good to always be cautious, it’s also not good to always be trusting so a more balanced approach is optimal. Plus every situation and circumstance is unique so you have to take that into factor as well.

I wouldn’t trust “a poker room” but I’d be more inclined to trust a well known/established poker room but as past experience has shown (i.e. FullTilt) even with those ones you are never safe 100%. Plus, if hackers can break into much more secure systems and steal user information, what makes you think your favorite online poker room is 100% protected?

Speaking for myself, I have sent in my documentation on several poker sites and I have never had any trouble.

Verification of the account is normal, and I believe that this is necessary and necessary.
