DO NOT PLAY AT CARBON. I had over 1K in there and I never saw it. Now, given this was a while back, they may have gotten better... Be careful.

Their customer support as been good in my experience. Even with no phone, they've been fast, and actually have an intelligent human reading and addressing your issue. Please let us know of an update. BTW, it could very well be the KY thing.

LOL, I agree w/ you, DB!! If I have a Grand that suddenly disappears, I'm going to have a BIG ASS STORY to tell and I'm going to tell it all over the place!!! (In other words, that sounds like BS to me!)

I've heard of people getting banned because they had been logging on with the same IP address as other people. I once lived in an apartment complex that all shared the same IP and college campuses are probably the same way. It's also possible that if you do share an IP someone else on the network was cheating.

Brand new here and have to say the board looks great and I look forward to hanging out in the future....

The reason I am here is that I googled "Carbon Poker Suspended Account" and this site was first on the list.

I too had my account suspended over the weekend and I am looking for answers.

I've contacted Customer Support via email because I can't find a phone number and they have not gotten back to me. I just want an explanation and my money.

Like the OP said, I do not cheat and can't believe this is how they do business. I've searched for ways to go after my money and have come up with nothing. It seems that unless they decide to contact me to settle this, I am pretty much helpless.

The only consolation is that at least I've found others that are going thru the same BS.

If anyone has any info, please let me know. I will do the same if I get anything out of Carbon.

6 years of playing online and I have never had any problems with any other sites. Smooth cash outs and great customer service across the board, until I went bonus whoring at Carbon....

Any help or info is appreciated.

these things usually happen because accounts you may have had some relationship with in the past have been caught indulging in fraudulent activity (money laundering, falsely using credit card chargebacks etc). "some relationship" might be having shared IP addresses, having transferred money to/from the account in question, or simply playing a lot of hands and winning.losing a lot to the relevant account.

if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing (well, okay, little) to fear - the best you can do is hold tight and co-operate. if the site asks you to explain your relationship with a certain player, explain it as fully as possible, if they ask you to send them ID, do it asap.

dropping them an e-mail every couple of days won't do any harm but depending on the competence on the site the investigation might take a week or two (i know pacific's support sucks but know nothing about carbon)

I sure hope you're right.

I actually only started playing there a couple of weeks ago and thought the site had great potential. I was literally shocked when I received the email stating the Carbon's "Fraud Department" had suspended my account permanently.

Hopefully they respond to my emails, but so far they haven't. They did however reply immediately to my initial email simply asking why my account had been suspended. They don't seem to be in a hurry to respond with an explanation.

I just want to discuss it with them to clear it up. I will let them know that I swear on my Children's Eyes that I have in no way cheated or done anything wrong, but if they don't get back to me, I am at a total loss.

The sad thing is that I have a decent amount of money that I could use elsewhere that might end up being lost.

Hopefully they deal with these issues professionally. Otherwise I can't see them staying in business too long.

My experience with Carbon is also bad. I stopped playing in Carbon after they suspended my account. But I had just a $7 balance and hence I was not bothered to chase them... Be careful with Carbon...

I have to say I have never had a problem with ANY site with the exception of a chat warning issued to me by PS from a railer complaining believe it or not. You may have done nothing at all, it only takes a complaint from some dipstick to get things moving.

i heard that before. its not ky thats where i am at

BTW, was in a friend game over and Carbon, and one gal was from KY. 3-way discussion, bemoaning the issues of KY, but this was not an issue at Carbon.

My wife and I were just about to make a deposit on carbon, but after reading this we're going to hold off. When people wonder what good comes from forums like these, it's the information we learn and share with one another that I appreciate the most.

if you go to whatismyip dot com you'll see your IP address displayed.
To lookup a location from an IP address, go to ip2location dot com to see where the IP address is registered to.

Just an update on my situation, which is pretty much the same as Warriors....

I have had contact with Carbon, but it has been completely useless.

They send me the same "Form" emails with the exact same messages each time.

One says, (Received this one 4 times now)
"Our fraud management team has flagged your account for security reasons and terminated your account access permanently. As a result, we are unable to re-activate your account under any circumstances, though an email will be sent to you should there be any changes to this."

Another says,
"Please be informed that your account has been found in connection with payment fraud and thus will not be reopened or any fraudulently funds returned."

The most recent says,
"I apologize but your account has been banned and cannot be re-activated because of chargebacks."

What the heck is a "Chargeback"?

I have been very polite in my replies and just want this resolved. I have done nothing wrong and just want to talk to them in person to see what is going on. If there is a problem with my Credit Card, I want to know because it may have been compromised and I might need to do something for myself.

I have around $800 in my account that they appear to be trying to keep. I've involved my bank and they are looking into it because as they say, it looks like "Fraud' on Carbon's side. I have the Bank Statement up on my screen showing the deposit at Carbon, so I have no idea what grounds they can claim Fraud.

Not a brag, but I work in the Alberta Oil Sands and make a very comfortable living, so I have absolutely no reason to cheat or pull off fraud.

I've only been at Carbon for two and a half weeks and have only played about 6 sessions. I've made no transfers and didn't use any software, etc, so I am really confused as what they are claiming as fraud. If there was a problem with my method of payment, they should have caught it when I made the deposit. If something has happened since by a third party, I need to know about it.

I'm not going to slander them because I know I've done nothing wrong and they've made an error, but if I don't get details from them so I can look into it or explain my side, I am at a loss as to what to do. My patience is wearing thin.

I've also involved an online Casino Investigation company and it appears that there are a number of people going through this.

I only signed up at Carbon for the Bonus and Rakeback on Feb 11, 2009 and once this gets resolved one way or another, I will not be testing out the "New" sites in the future.

Seven years of playing online with multiple Deposits, Cashouts and Transfers with no problems.....Until now.

I hope to get this resolved, but it appears that We really don't have a leg to stand on if a Poker Room decides to keep our money.

A chargeback usually implies that a credit card has been used to make a purchase, then that credit card is found to be fraudulent. A chargeback is then applied which means the person who received payment from that card effectively has to give the money back and is also left without the item that he sold..

In short sellers get screwed over by chargebacks when people commit credit card fraud.

Carbon are at fault here.. problem you are up against is, when dealing with large companies, its dammed near impossible to speak to someone who can actually do something about your problem.

I think your best course of action is to pursue it through your own bank's fraud systems.. you will find companies are far more willing to listen to another companies legal department than they are to listen to their own customers

TBH I'd move the money to another site until you hear that this sort of thing has blown over!!

99% of people never have a problem but why take the risk of being part of that 1% ?

Its most likely not direct fraud, in the sense that Carbon have selected him to loose money, but if the company is having issues with its internal procedures then its not a company that you, as a consumer, should want to do business with.

Have a look around and see if one of the other large poker sites have a better current track record, if so go there. If they all seem the same then I wouldn't panic too much.. they are just big companies and unfortunately big companies don't seem quick to sort out individual problems.

If your problem fits their script then it will be fixed in minutes, but if it is in anyway unique no-one seems to know which department to send it to.

This isnt a poker problem its more a large company problem

Thanks Stu, well said.

Like I said, I don't plan on Slandering the company, (Unless I have reason in the future). Even though I am in canada, I like to support the sites that allow US Players simply out of principle. Carbon is one of the sites that do allow US players, so I hope they get their act together.

I talked to my bank about the "Chargeback" claim and they say it must be an error. They are looking into it and might be able to reimburse my money via insurance and then pursue what would then be their money from Carbon, or Merge Gaming.

I have played at too many poker sites to list off without any problems. I will definitely be sticking to one of the bigger, proven sites in the future. It's just a shame I signed up to most of them long before there was any sort of "Rakeback" available. Being an honest person, I have abided by the "Single" account rule and have signed up at these new sites in order to get rakeback, rather than open a second account which would break the rules.

Now all I can do is sit and wait for a resolution I guess. My main concern now is that something has happened to compromise my Card and with Carbon not giving me any details, I don't know my next step.

I'll probably just cancel my Card just to be safe, but it's such a pain in the ass and something I shouldn't, (and/or probably don't), have to do.

No probs.

As for Credit / debit cards.

I have a dedicated credit card and also a separate bank account with debit facilities for the purposes of Internet transactions. Its sort of damage limitation should the worst occur.. the credit card has a low spending limit.

I'm confident that my bank would pursue any fraudulent transactions made against me but this way I have limited the possible size and thus reduced potential stress which would occur.

As for Rakeback, I have seen on several rakeback sites that it is possible to switch your account over to a rakeback account. PM me and ill look up the site if you want.

Hope it all gets sorted out quickly for you
